My Interview Experience: My interview was scheduled for 12 noon today. I arrived at the venue 10.45am and waited in the car with my husband who is also having his interview at 12 noon. We decided to go in at 11.20am, the security alarm went off while I was checking in because of my "complicated" shoes (as the security said). I had to take off my shoes, took a while because they were lace-up. I finally checked in at 11.27am. We were told to go to the second floor and wait to be called, there were a few people already waiting (~20), my no was L80 and they were at L73. After about 1 hr (12.33pm), a lady called my no, collected my letter and told me to go and wait on the third floor (by the way my husband was called after me and he had his interview right there on the 2nd floor). I waited at the 3rd floor for about 7 mins and the lady came and called me into her office (she was nice and seem to be having some difficulty handling documents because her nails were really long which we laughed about). I did the civic tests with the following questions

1. What group of people was taken to America and sold as slaves? Africans

2. How many amendments does the constitution have? 27

3. Who is the vice president of U.S? Joe Biden

4. Who makes federal laws? Congress

5. What is the highest court in the U.S.? Supreme Court

6. Why did the colonist fight the british? I initially said boarding and she said what did you say so I just said because of high taxes.

Reading: I was asked to read; What can citizens do?

Writing: I was asked to write "Citizens can vote" (My husband said he was not asked to write anything and also all his questions were different from mine)

After this, she told me I passed the exam. I was asked to stand up, put up my hand and swear to tell the truth after which we went through my application form and answered/confirm all the things I filled in the form (it went pretty fast). I was given my passport to sign and some other forms and was told that I have been recommended for approval. She then gave me form N-652 and told to expect my oath letter in the mail. She then escorted me out (the whole interview took about 15 mins). I went back to 2nd floor to wait for my husband and he came back a few minutes later telling me he had finished and waited for me and then gone to look for me downstairs. We left the building around 1.10pm.

That is it, now got to wait for oath letter.

I just got an email today that I have been scheduled for oath and to wait for the letter in the mail for date and venue. I really want to have my oath done this year but the email says if I don't receive my letter by Jan 16, I should go to their website to make an e-request for a copy. Does that mean my oath is going to be after Jan. 16? Guess I will know when I get my letter but I am just anxious.

I updated the list to show my updates. We got our letter yesterday. I am curious though. I haven't seen any update where there was same day oath ceremony. Is it that atlanta not doing that any more?
