Dear Forum,

I have been living in Curacao for 13 years. I am a US citizen and my two Children are US citizens.

I have sold my shares in the family business on the island and decided to move back to the states.

My wife of 7 years is British, so I've been told that wait times are 6-9 months.

But I need to find work and I don't want to abandon my wife and kids on the island while I work and my wife waits for her papers.

Does anyone have any experience in coming to the USA on an esta and then before it expires changing status?

I'm looking for work in the US and EU and want to spend Christmas with my family in the US, if I find a job while I am there I would like all of us to stay together.

Thanks

I am not sure how realistic that time line is, but then not a common area.

Do you have a US Domicile?

Have you been filing your taxes etc.

VWP (not ESTA) is for visiting.

Look at the Sponsorship requirement. I 864
