question about k1 timeline

We filed K1 in July and received NOA1 July 29th 2014. I've read all various information provided by USCIS and this site (by the way- this site a great resource! Thank you!) but I'm still a little confused about the timeline. It says 6 months processing - but does that include interview, medical exam, etc.? In other words is it 6 months and THEN next steps, or do the next steps happen inside the 6 months?

The waiting is really starting to get to me and it's only been 1 month! :) Our case is fairly straightforward not expecting any issues.. but you never know.. fiancee is from Russia.

I'm asking for a few reasons, mostly for planning and curiosity..

When we filed it looked as though I would be spending some time in Europe for work and we could meet, but that is not going to happen now.. pouring over all details and scenarios does help with the waiting :)

Hello!! and Welcome to the club.

Please review this link http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow

The 6 months processing time is for the petition to be approved, meaning the time between NOA1 and NOA2. After that as you can see in the link, they will send the approved petition to the National Visa Center, who will assign you a case number and then send all your info to the consulate in Russia, after that your fiancé will be able to follow up with the consulate in Russia to schedule medical exams and her interview.

It has only been one month, try to stay calm because this can be a long process, we sent our petition in January and last week I was able to schedule the interview for next month.

Best wishes! God Bless you guys.

Philippians 4: 6-7. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
