Thanks for clearing that up. However, it wasn't apparent from your response to the post in question, hence mine. I may be many things but I can't claim to be a psychic.

If me making you aware that a lot has changed in 50 years, somehow helped you arrive at the conclusion, that I think the past has no bearing on the present, then the you must posses amazing psychic powers that don't work

I can't speak for all here, but I'd imagine there are some who would agree with me.

I am not saying blacks haven't had it rough for the past 150 years or so in America. But guess what? I had NOTHING to do with that. Can't change what my ancestors may have done to blacks (though with our history of barely getting by, it prolly wasn't much).

In my lifetime, the only time for which I feel any responsibility, I have done nothing to keep any other human down except hold a job since the age of 13. I have held my friends (black, Hispanic, Asian, whatever) in the highest regard. I will do anything for just about anyone; that's the way I was raised.

I do not feel sorry for ANY man or woman who has not "risen above" any oppression they have/had in their life. And I respect greatly anyone who has stepped away from a bad life (poverty, drugs, crime, whatever applies) to make something of themselves and raise a good family.

And I don't feel sorry for those who stay where they are, both literally and figuratively. It's a choice each has to make. I don't blame other people because I am not rich. That is my own fault. But I am where I am because I worked hard to get here, and I commend anyone who has done similar.

I don't blame my woes on other people or other races. I don't look around and see who has it better than me and compare my life against theirs. I look at what I have, decide if it's enough for me and my family and adjust my plans accordingly.

I don't see others getting in trouble, breaking the law, or going to jail and decide to make a federal case of unfair treatment for them. They got themselves there, it is not my fault. I answer for my OWN actions; and if someone makes a sweeping accusation about whites, I see if I fit that (often false) assumption, and if not, I don't waste my time trying to convince the person making the (ignorant) blanket assumption. That is how I live my life, so I guess I tend to assume others do the same, regardless of their race.

I might be wrong. But I am me, and others' judgment of me, unless they are family or close friends, doesn't matter so much.

OK dude, I think we could use a recap here. I responded to a post in which you:

1) appeared to completely dismiss a legitimate point, only to then correct yourself a few posts down to say that actually it is a legitimate point but is not the only factor in play (Which begs the question why did you dismiss it to begin with?)

And

2) that I should have reached a different conclusion than the one I reached in relation to your dismissal and this should have been based not on the words you posted in the thread but on your past reputation, post history (none of which are known to me) and testimonial evidence of several unnamed accomplices who could corroborate it.

Given that a few hours ago you posted that the experience of being white in the USA in 2014 is equivalent to being black in the 1920s its not as if anyone might think that you are trying to trivialise the issues here ;-)

I am glad to know that you think things have changed. I know they have, however I also know that 50 years isn't a huge amount of time to level the playing field after more than a century of repression.

Piepmeier will present evidence to a grand jury that will determine if Beavercreek police officer Sean Williams, Sgt. David Darkow or anyone will face criminal charges from the shooting death by police of Walmart customer John Crawford III, 22, of Fairfield.

“I have been involved in the investigation of and trial of officer-involved shootings and excessive use of force complaints against police officers in Hamilton County for the last 15 years,” said Piepmeier, the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office chief trial counsel. “I will present everything relevant to the shooting to the Greene County Grand Jury along with the law regarding all possible criminal charges and any potential defenses to such charges.”

Police said Crawford twice failed to drop a weapon when instructed, while his family members said he was intending to buy the MK-177 (.177 caliber) Crosman airgun rifle BB/pellet gun he was carrying. The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office said Crawford died of a gunshot wound to the torso, but Crawford’s family said he also was shot in the left elbow and that he was talking on his cell phone when he was shot.

“Mr. Piepmeier is fair,” DeWine said. “He is impartial. He calls it like he sees it. And he will have total independence in this case.”

Actually going through the threads today is seem if race is not the issue it at least 90% of posts then we are all holocaust deniers... (and yes someone actually did say "holocaust denier" I could not make something that stupid up)

Someone who thinks that whites americans in 2014 are in the same position as blacks were in the 1920s is denying the horrible reality that was experienced by many blacks during that time. So yes, I do put it up there with holocaust denial and it isn't a particularly great stretch of the imagination to do so.

Wright says the video shows Crawford standing in the direction of some shelves. He say Crawford was talking on his cell phone and probably did not see or hear the police officer sent to the store to investigate. He said in one frame you see Crawford on the phone, the next you see him on the floor.
