Photos and Letters from Past Relationships

We both got rid of all our old pictures, letters, cards, emails, and what have you from past relationships long before we became one. Although it was never an issue, we did it anyway.

If she got rid of anything of value, then she is not a golddigger.

Couples should get rid of ALL past stuff, or the rship is just a shallow arrangement of convenience,based on benefitting the female materially, while paying back the man bodywise. That is my opinion, and at my age, am always correct.

I have one or two pictures of a couple of my exes, but no letters or anything else. My fiance does, too. I don't think there's anything wrong with keeping a few pictures. These people made us who we are, they meant something to us at the time, and they're nothing but a memory now. So, why not keep a couple? I wouldn't hang 1st (or 2nd) wedding pictures on the wall (and honestly, if I had any wedding pictures, I'd probably get rid of those), but I don't think one or two in a photo album is offensive.

I still have the silly pics of my old boyfriends...meaning, during my childhood...prom pic, homecoming, etc. There's no way anyone would be 'jealous' of that. I do not have any of the stuff from my serious exes....but I threw them away because I wanted to, not because I had to.

Family pics that included the ex were cut, mostly. But I'm not going to throw out pictures of me and my deceased & beloved grandmother because an ex may be in it.

D is my absolute everything & he knows that. Sure we each get into our little jealous moods every now and again, but for the most part we're all good with dealing with each other's past. I agree with Kath & JenT....pretending it never happened is kinda silly.

i commend you for doing the right thing. childhood pics cannot ever be replaced. i'm still fighting with my sister to get pics of me as a baby.

There is nothing to fight about... why don't you just scan the photos and let her keep the originals?
