Not really, no. With the way today's gov't is run, it's nearly impossible to change it. I'm sure the forefathers were able to see how the gov't of today would be, right?

Which is the exact reason the Constitution needs to be amended. Times have changed, life has changed. For anyone to think that a document that was written over 200 years ago should apply word for word in today's world in insane. If guns are no more important than golf clubs, then they do not need to be a protected right.

Then the people need to band together to get the Constituiton amended. Elect politicians who will work to change the Constitution. Until the Constituiton is changed, it's nothing but talk. It will take decades to get close to this happening. Can you imagine what will happen to any politician who runs for office stating he will take away Second Amendment rights? He better save a bullet for himself. It will be suicide.
