I don't see where "proof of ongoing relationship" is required

For the I-129F I just see that I am required to submit evidence that me and my fiance have met in the last two years. What is all this about proof of an ongoing relationship? Is this "front loading"? Should I specifically state on my cover letter something like:

proof of ongoing relationship - phone logs

proof of ongoing relationship - skype chat logs

proof of ongoing relationship - letter received 8/1/2014

I have letters she sent me, but not letters I sent her. Do I need her to email me scanned copies of those letters? or should i just not include any proof of an ongoing relationship since it is not requested?

Are they just going to ask her for this stuff at her interview at the consulate?

Thank you

I'm confused about this too. I thought we just needed to show proof of meeting in past 2 years. However, I saw so many posts about front loading so I did send my cell phone log.

I thought u sent proof ongoing in with the stuff for the consular but now I keep hearing "the embassy never looked at it". I've heard of denials and people saying they didn't want to see proof of ongoing. We really mostly talk on ohone. I have FB chats but don't know how to print it. So other than phone logs we really don't have any other "proof".

His mother just received her visitors visa so she can come to our wedding....is that any proof??

For high fraud countries, petitioner needs to front-load the petition. My husband and I only submitted Skype screen shots when we did video calls, emails spanned from 2008-2013 we chose wisely about 20 emails, unlimited Skype subscription records taken from May 2013 to August 2013, 10 pictures, and that's all. We were approved for I-129F without any RFE.

For the embassy's stage, the CO did not look at evidence of ongoing relationship I brought. He only asked I-134 original, W-2, and recent tax return. I received my visa 3 days after my interview and the embassy had returned all photos that we submitted for I-129F.

I still don't see on the I-129F instructions where it says I need to submit proof of an ongoing relationship with the application. Is there some place that mentions high fraud countries, which countries they are, and that I must submit additional information that is not on the instruction sheet?

It doesn't ask for proof of an on-going relationship on any of the I-129F paperwork - the instructions say to only prove that you've physically met within 2 years of submitting the paperwork. So technically, no you do not HAVE to provide any additional evidence of your ongoing relationship to satisfy the requirements for the I-129F.

That being said, a big reason that people do in fact give more information is to try to avoid an RFE. It's generally accepted that if you do in fact provide more information than they ask for, your risk of getting an RFE drops. It's not written in stone anywhere, but if you look through the guides/walk throughs on how to compile your inital packet, it's suggested that you do go a little above an beyond what they ask for.

For our I-129Fpacket we inlcuded itineraries, photos, emails, phone call logs, and a few other odds and ends to help dispel any doubts about us being genuine. We had no RFE's, and a blazing fast processing time. I'm not insinuating that the extra evidence contributed to that, but I've got to think it had SOME kind of bearing on the speedy process.

At the end of the day, it's your call. But think of it this way.. if you put in more than they ask for in your initial packet and it goes through with no problems, awesome - however, if you put the bear minimum and get an RFE due to it, you've made the process much longer than it could have been.

Good luck!

Hmm... that makes sense. I am convinced.

I started to doubt frontloading because I saw people that seemed to be going over the top with it - 100 pages of chat logs or similar stories. I just could not see how this would be helpful at all.

So I will do what you did and keep it simple.

Thank you

'Front-loading' is not to avoid an RFE for the I-129F petition. Relationship evidence is not a requirement for the I-129F petition, so they would not send an RFE if that evidence was not provided. 'Front-loading' is for the consulate stage. What you submit with the I-129F petition will be in your file for the CO to see for your K-1 visa interview. There have been instances where a CO will not allow further evidence to be provided. If it is already in the file with your petition, then they cannot deny that the evidence was present, as it already went through the USCIS and was in your case file already. The CO will most likely look through the case file before you interview, and it helps to make up their mind whether your relationship is legit or not.

You do not need to go overboard though. Hundreds of pages is not needed. Just a few select documents that span the length of your relationship will do. Then, bring more to the K-1 visa interview.

You can also check out the China regional forum here on VJ to see more specific info geared towards the consulate you will be going through.

Chat logs, letters, gifts, cards, etc. Just send a few examples over the duration of your relationship. Also you should send signed letters of intent to marry.

Is China considered a high fraud country?

Yes, it certainly is.

We front-loaded our initial I-129F petition with as much of the different types of evidence types mentioned in the VJ K1 Guide as we could assemble prior to the petition submission. My then-fiancee and son's visa interview lasted about ten minutes. The CO had certainly previewed the file. There is no specific indicator if the front-loading was successful other then they got their visas, and no issues with evidence.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
