Hello, I'm trying to search this topic but I keep running into the opposite of my question. My husband came over on K1 and were sending off the AOS, EAD etc Tuesday. We were wondering what to do if the EAD doesn't get here before his Australian Drivers License expires on Dec 23. Do we need to plan on having it renewed and have family ship it here? I understand it's a ways off, but just trying to be proactive. Thanks

Don't bother with renewing an Australian drivers license. Has he gone to the driver licensing authority for your state yet to apply for a license there yet?

It's unlikely that Australian authorities will renew his Australian licence if he is no longer resident in that country.

If you are sending your AOS package this week you should have the EAD in plenty of time before the Australian license expires. EAD will take 90 days max, probably more like 60 days.
