Hi, guys.

I have some questions regarding the immigration process. I'm a Green Card holder, just recently received one. I have know my girlfriend for 4 years now. So we are thinking to get married. She is Ukrainian.

We have gathered all required documents and we were wondering : Do we need to translate personal letters that we wrote to each other (the letters are in Russian language).

As we live in different countries what other documents are required to show that our marriage is real. (we have letters from friends, airplane tickets, photos, post cards, letters, bank transfers).

If she comes to US on tourist visa and we get married how fast she has to go back to her country?

Thanks

no need to translate letters. To show your marriage is genuine u better take much photos with family and friends. Take photos of reception. Mariage Invitation cards, mariage videos are also important. U guys can have pics of ur trip of different places, hotel bill where u both have name, travel tickets, money transfer records, phone records, gifts u guys shared, chat history, emails shared, insurance or bank acount where u both have name etc etc.. Just keep small paper also which shows that u guys r together. Hope this will help u. I guess she can stay for 90 days in tourist visa bt m not sure.

if she comes on tourist visa and gets married here, it can raise a red flag.

If she is lucky enough to get a tourist visa and get married in US, you can file for her I-130 and she will file for her Adjustment of status I-485. Collect all the necessary documents proving that your marriage is not bogus or marriage just to get a green card for her. Photos of wedding, reception, etc. that will convince the Immigration of your genuine relationship. She can stay here and wait for the decision of USCIS and if approved good for both of you. But if she can't come here for tourist visa, go to her place and get married. As soon as you come back here in USA file for her I-130 petition for alien relative.
