If the vaccinations are complete and your overseas medical is less than one year old, you don't need anything. If vaccinations are incomplete at the time of your overseas medical, even if you completed them later, you need CS to do the vaccination supplement. No need for new TB test. Civil Surgeons often get this wrong. I had to fight with my wife's CS, who insisted on a full medical, until I looked up the regulation, downloaded and printed it and stuffed it in his office manager's face.

Yeah I had been reading through that before. Saw one in Chicago and they noted that the receptionist was unaware if you could get just vaccinations transcribed but he was able to for $24. The lady I talked to said we could risk it and walk in, but she thinks he will need another medical. It's funny how clueless (or money hungry) every else is! Haha.

People have gotten their EAD and later at interview the guy says you are missing a shot. So there are many cases where EAD is approved prior to anybody going over his shot record in detail.

There is a thread that you can search for call "Civil Surgeons Who Don't Rip you Off". Put that in the advance search box (top right corner of this page to find the advanced search). People listed ones they found and somebody near you may be listed. You have to go through the whole thread.

Your K1 friend had procedures not needed. Do NOT believe a civil surgeon who says you do. Good luck. It is very frustrating.

Yeah I figured since he had two shots after the medical, we would need to go but was hoping that since he has records of it, we could get away with what we have. Do you happen to know where you found the regulations, just in case?

He doesn't have the two shots recorded on a government form. USCIS doesn't take papers from the family GP as we have established several times. The civil surgeon will. Some won't budge with regulations. They think they know. But if you want to argue the point, here's what to use as ammo...Print it out and circle the appropriate sections in red.

What if I am a K nonimmigrant visa holder and already had a medical exam overseas?

If you were admitted as a:

A. K-1 fiancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fiancé(e); or as a

B. K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen; and

C. You received a medical examination prior to admission, then:

1. You are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination, and the medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition, or if you did have a Class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility and have complied with the terms and conditions on the waiver.

2. Even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included as part of the original overseas medical examination report, you will have to have the vaccination report completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you are required to submit the vaccination record and page 1 of Form I-693.

Q57. Many applicants come to a civil surgeon requesting only the vaccination portion of the medical exam. Is there a way for the civil surgeon to determine whether the applicant falls within one of the groups that are exempt from the full medical exam (e.g. refugee, asylee, K or V nonimmigrant visa holder within one year of the overseas exam with no Class A conditions). Is the applicant required to show the civil surgeon Form I-94 or other document showing his or her immigration status?

A57. No. Generally, applicants are not required to verify their immigration status to the civil surgeon. The applicant is only required to verify his or her identity by providing a government-issued photo identification. USCIS will confirm whether the applicants immigration status and previous immigration medical examinations overseas only require the applicant to complete the vaccination portion of the medical exam in the U.S. Therefore, if the applicant believes he or she only needs a vaccination assessment, the civil surgeon may perform just the vaccination portion of the medical exam and complete pages 1 and 5 of Form I-693. If USCIS determines that the applicant requires the full medical exam, then USCIS will return Form I-693 to the applicant with the appropriate instructions.
