Ferguson (United States) (AFP) - A police officer in Missouri was suspended Friday after he used Facebook to lash out at protesters condemning the fatal shooting of an unarmed black teenager by a white police officer.

Seems to me people need to leave their personal biases about the rioters at the door.

If they are able to do that it might occur to them police are supposed to protect and serve the populace. Part of that involves fostering positive relations with the community.

The police should be trying to calm tensions not further inflame them. Seems to me that the cop in question was rightly suspended.

But then again I'm not a racist, so what do I know.

I find it funny that you were literally about to start shedding tears at a jab most folks would have brushed off, yet being called an animal that is killed without any question acceptable.

When someone calls me a murderer, terrorist, or acid thrower, or how that I have a low IQ because I'm black, I take offense to that. And those were aimed at me personally.

Please PM me :content:

No one would dare call you low IQ,

Of course they wouldn't, to my face. :content:

Sorry but you just don't get it. The difference between an attack aimed at someone personally is completely different from an attack on an unnamed individual or third party.

Civil discourse between friends (or VJ members) precludes ad hominem attacks on each other.

And since your post is somewhat unclear on this point, let me emphasize: You are undoubtedly aware I have never called you those names. So you must not be referring to me. And, if anyone ever called you any of those things - and I happened to notice it - I would be the first to jump to your defense.

Let me clear that up.

I don't mind the arguing here since everyone has an opinion and it's normal to have some discourse. If I were thin skinned, I would have quit a long time ago.

I wasn't referring to you, but I have been called those things by members past. Even though I didn't insult them, they took it upon themselves to attack my choice of religion and my ethnicity. When you say black people have a low IQ, you're talking about me. If you say Muslims need to be killed, I'm in that category as well. So I take offence.

I think you are way over sensitive some time, but I will have to have your back and say I witnessed what you speak of. reaction--Yawn!
