There are actually quite a few hotels not far from the embassy, but they're not cheap. We stayed in the Comfort Suites which was a 20 minute walk away and we paid around $170 including tax for a room for the 5 of us. It wasn't the greatest, but hey we were only staying for one night. I'd get the room booked asap as the closer to the date you get, the less choice you'll have. You might want to look at Airbnb too since you will probably be flying to Montreal so you won't have the issue of parking and you might find something a lot cheaper.

We made the point of finding the Consulate on the day before our interview and the one thing we discovered was that not many people were aware of where the consulate was. Let me know which hotel you end up booking and I'll try and give you some directions to the Consulate since there is no flag outside the building and it is not easy to find.

no need to verify it from MOFA we submitted it just as it is and now we would have to get a new pcc because it valids for 6 months

i suggest you to call nvc again because till 1st of november you have the chance maybe your priority date is last of third week so thats why its late
