I don't consider myself progressive or liberal or whatever. I know Expat1 is probably one of the most right wing folks on this website. I think people in general are finally waking up and realizing that the Israeli govt. is an oppressor of the worst kind, and that's a good thing. Maybe the U.S. govt. will stop supporting their ethnic cleansing campaign in the near future. I hope so anyway.

LOL...............

Yeah all of my right-wing buddies pony up at every opportunity to give a nod to the people of Gaza. It's one of the most popular movements in the right-wing community!

When I say right wing, I'm referring to your stances on firearms etc. from your last account here. At least I think you're the same person as himher.

Gibberish. I'm the easter bunny except I am also the queen of England and a tomato at the same time.

I'm also a pragmatist with a large side of libertarian and I'm sure you'd make fun of me for saying that, too. But that's why people like you don't call the shots...

What does this mean - call the shots? I follow the English language rather than exhibiting the childish narcissism of thinking I can make words mean whatever I want. What bizarre diversionary twaddle.

Because it pertains to war crimes of Israel, abetted by the West. You can call yourself a unicorn for all it matters. Who cares. Pick your war criminal, and they all had pretentious names for themselves and at the bottom of it is base human greed. Greed over land, resources, political power - what rubbish to quibble over inane names you want to use.

In that brilliant book 1984, Orwell pointed out state terror being advanced through doublespeak and other propaganda tactics. So yes, of course - it would be Libertarian most of all that you would want to call yourself when being a warmonger. Because it is singularly the most important difference between Libertarians and everyone else - that they are so opposed to all these wars. So no, it is absolutely no surprise to me at all that this is what you would call yourself: the thing that is most opposite to what you actually are.

So that's all that makes a libertarian huh? Ok, let me rephrase. I am more of a libertarian than I am anything else. I am certainly not democrat, and certainly not republican. I disagree with both on too many things. I only disagree with libertarians on two things: I don't necessarily think the concept of universal healthcare is a bad idea(NOT Obamacare though) and I don't think war is always avoidable. Other than that lets see...I am more socially liberal, like democrats - I support same sex marriage, I am pro-choice TO AN EXTENT(I don't believe it should be a form of birth control and I don't think taxpayers should pay for it but I also don't think it should be banned like some republicans do), I support legalization of marijuana, I am against the death penalty(yes it is entirely possible to be against the death penalty and still not necessarily be opposed to all wars), etc etc. On the other hand I agree with the republicans where the democrats don't where being fiscally conservative is concerned, right to bear arms, etc etc. The only party that combines those views is the libertarian party cause that's the only party that believes in TOTAL FREEDOM, like I do, not nit-picking it to whatever suits you like the democrats and republicans do. "Yeah I think I'll let everyone have an abortion but I'll decide for them what they eat" or "yeah killing a baby is horrible but the death penalty is wonderful". No, they are both wrong. Libertarians are right. But I am still allowed to disagree with them on a few points and still consider myself one.

And Israel is supposed to trust those people to protect its future borders with a Palestinian state? Only if Israel is allowed and able to defend itself is it ever truly safe. It cannot rely on anyone else.

Hundreds of members of UNDOF, the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force stationed on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights, crossed the border into Israel on Monday, after recent clashes with al-Qaeda-linked militants.

The UN peacekeepers are being "relocated" from four positions and one camp on the Syrian side of the Syrian-Israeli border, a diplomatic source said, after recent altercations with the al-Qaeda-linked Al Nusra Front, figting to oust Syrian President Bashar Assad.

There was no suggestion that the UN peacekeeping mission in the Golan Heights, known as UNDOF, was shutting down. Last month 45 UNDOF peacekeepers were kidnapped by Islamist militants fighting the Syrian army. They were released last week.

The UN mission has 1,223 troops from six countries: Fiji, India, Ireland, Nepal, Netherlands and the Philippines. A number of countries has withdrawn their peacekeepers due to the escalating violence.

The only stable place in the region. Not by chance, not by luck, certainly not by following the choir. But because it doesn't rely on anyone else to do the job for it. Suddenly, all those anti Israel UN people are flocking into it.

Round and round it goes........

Attacking your neighbor to drive him off of his property so that you can take it for yourself for the purpose of ethnic cleansing is not self-defense.

Here is what Jewish Holocaust survivors say about Israeli policy today. I believe I'll stand with them and take their side. Their letter which was published in the NYT pretty much summarizes my position here in these threads.

http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/1.612072

"As Jewish survivors and descendants of survivors and victims of the Nazi genocide we unequivocally condemn the massacre of Palestinians in Gaza and the ongoing occupation and colonization of historic Palestine. We further condemn the United States for providing Israel with the funding to carry out the attack, and Western states more generally for using their diplomatic muscle to protect Israel from condemnation. Genocide begins with the silence of the world.

"We are alarmed by the extreme, racist dehumanization of Palestinians in Israeli society, which has reached a fever-pitch. In Israel, politicians and pundits in The Times of Israel and The Jerusalem Post have called openly for genocide of Palestinians and right-wing Israelis are adopting Neo-Nazi insignia.

"Furthermore, we are disgusted and outraged by Elie Wiesel’s abuse of our history in these pages to justify the unjustifiable: Israel’s wholesale effort to destroy Gaza and the murder of more than 2,000 Palestinians, including many hundreds of children. Nothing can justify bombing UN shelters, homes, hospitals and universities. Nothing can justify depriving people of electricity and water.

"We must raise our collective voices and use our collective power to bring about an end to all forms of racism, including the ongoing genocide of Palestinian people. We call for an immediate end to the siege against and blockade of Gaza. We call for the full economic, cultural and academic boycott of Israel. “Never again” must mean NEVER AGAIN FOR ANYONE!"

Nice to know that the racists back home (their words not mine) who are actively in the practice of ethnic cleansing enjoy your full support. Keep up the good work!

Answer me this: Does it make you feel proud of your country when hundreds of people who survived the most horrible experience in recent history look over and compare you to those who caused it?
