Using assets to meet income requirement

Hey guys,

Have people used assets to bridge a gap between the 125% poverty guideline income requirement for your household size and your current income.

My spouse and sponsor is only over a $1,000 short of the income requirement. We have plenty of money in the bank in savings and liquid assets that can be made available right away. I understand the rule is that the sponsor if it's your spouse needs to show 3 times the amount that is missing to get to the income requirement.

What is the best way to submit such evidence, especially if you don't have 12 months of history to show with that bank because the money just got recently deposited there.

If you cannot meet the minimum income requirements using your earned income, you have various options:

• You may add the cash value of your assets. This includes money in savings accounts, stocks, bonds, and property. To determine the amount of assets required to qualify, subtract your household income from the minimum income requirement (125% of the poverty level for your family size). You must prove the cash value of your assets is worth five times this difference (the amount left over).
