Congrats!

We just had our baby in November, his name is Noor or "The Hybrid" or Captain Mustard-Pants.

The lowdown -- crazy pregnancy of travelling all over Morocco, gave birth in Tennessee (natural delivery, NO MEDS! I thought I was going to die). He was almost 9 pounds.

Oh, and I gained 60 pounds during the pregnancy. (Most of it from Mexican food and calamari.)

Just thought I would say hi and congrats on the new moms to be. We just had our little guy 3 1/2 weeks ago. His name is Khalil. I've posted the pregnancy and L&D story elsewhere so I won't take up the space. Will try to keep up on how you all are doing and pop in to answer questions if they ever come up :) Good luck ladies - it's worth. Oh and get all the rest you can now!

I wanna be pregnant :crying: - inch'allah it will happen! :innocent:

Me too!!! But... I think there's one thing I need first, a husband!

I gained 50 pounds with my son. He weighed over 10 pounds at birth!!!

I never had any morning sickness per se but would feel ill if I didn't eat at least every 4 hours.

And I do seem to remember getting pretty tired of the pregnancy by the 7th month. Too bad it couldn't be a quicker process.

Best wishes to all those who are pregnant.

:)

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

So you travelled to Morocco during pregnancy? Any problems? We want to go this summer (in my 2nd trimester), but I was afraid of any complications that might arise (also the money issue but that's another story).

timeline doesn't matter.

I was living in Morocco when I got pregnant and came back to the states at 6 months pregnant. It was summer and I lived on a fifth floor apartment (no elevator) so it was getting ridiculous. But I had no complications and didn't start really feeling pregnant until month 7.

I say go for it! You have the most energy in your 2nd trimester anyway and they airline restrictions don't usually start ntil week 32 or so. Enjoy Morocco and indulge taste buds (and crazy cravings). I know a good ob/gyn in Rabat if you need an emergency medical contact while you are in Morocco.

Hello, all!

It has been some time since I have posted. I periodically still check the posts, but many of the people that I am/was familiar with in this forum have disappeared. That in mind, I have remained in the shadows to just read and learn as I don't know many of the people here now and I doubt any of you know me. Yet, I felt compelled to chime in on this one. I hope you don't mind.

I have been in Morocco since August of 2006 and have been working since November. We learned that I was pregnant just after Ramadan. So I am now nearing the end of my fourth month. This is not my first pregnancy, but I think my age is contributing to a very difficult time. I also have had problems with fibroid cysts for years which I was told could take blood from the baby, so we needed to get past 3 months to insure a "viable" pregnancy. :o

I did not have "morning sickenss", I had all day sickness. The smell of everything exacerbated this sickness it seems 10 fold. I had lost a good deal of weight after arriving and fasting during Ramadan, but I continued to lose once pregnant. I have no idea how much in all, but at my last appointment with the ob/gyn she told me that I have not gained any since the last visit. I, too, am perpetually tired and the late night visits to the toilet are taking its toll on my sleeping which then show on my face the next day. Which in turn doesn' help the fact that my job is to teach English via video teleconferencing and I sometimes have classes scheduled at 8.00 am! Some days my students have asked if I am ok. :help: All my students and co-workers now know of my pregnancy and are very supportive, however, so I am surrounded by helpful surrogate family.

My expected delivery date is July 11 and my husband, of course, is very excited. And deeshla, we live in Rabat, so please give me the name of the ob/gyn that you are speaking of. I can't believe that I can't remember the name of mine right now (forgetfulness, another side effect of pregnancy, I guess!) :P I want to know if this may be the same one. She came highly recommended and is always solidly booked with appointments.

Hey, I just dropped in from the Europe Forum and wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to all new preggos.

I am almost there and it really isn't fun anymore. Yesterday we were driving in the car for about 2,5 hours and my belly started contracting all the time. Luckily it went away as soon as I got out of the car but it's really uncomfortable. I didn't have any morning sickness and my whole pregnancy really was picture perfect. We're hoping for an easy delivery.

All the best to everybody. Happy belly time.

I was going through the other forums and noticed that they have a pregnancy topic. I think it would be nice to start one in MENA. Please if you are pregnant, add your ticker. Add your advice, add your complaints, tell about your doctors appoinments, tell about names you are thinking about, etc. Whatever you would like to talk about or offer. This would be nice throughout the entire pregnancy. It would also be nice if we can have a virtual baby shower for those near their due dates. (F):)

Congrats on the baby!!! But are you 4 weeks pregnant? Your ticker says 8 weeks. I was thinking it might be a typo since you can't get pregnant by immaculate conception. :)

My ticker is correct. Yes it was immaculate conception.

Wow...I have not the father of my child questioning my weeks, but you. Interesting to say the least. Since you are such a wiz (lol) at figuring out conception time and calculating weeks, then let's see how smart you can be and determine the time of my conception????

What is exactly is your problem, since you came to this forum you have had a serious chip on your shoulder. It was just an observation. I am not questioning you it was just curiousity, you seriously need to calm down. I just thought it was a simple typo, I wasn't trying to determine the date of your conception nor do I care.

Now you want to question my problem because you want to question how many weeks I am pregnant. Who has the chip on thier shoulder????? Again, someone turns a nice post into drama. You people never quit.

I guess you could not figure it out. When you do figure out my conception date , let me know. BTW, I never typed my conception time or date. It was a typo ticker I guess.
