Good morning,

I paid my AOS fee bill a couple of weeks ago and also filed DS-261 on behalf of my spouse and step-child, but the IV fee bill doesn't show available to pay. What I mean is that I noticed by checking people's timelines on this site that after paying AOS fee bills, they pay IV fee bills within a couple of days. Am I doing something wrong or this is all link to the 60 days waiting period for a form to be viewed? I thought that I was going to be able to have them here a least for the end of the year, but it seems impossible by the time frame that NVC is processing the forms ?. Just so that I am clear on this...

1- would it take 60 days to check form DS-261?

2- would it take 60 days for every other step after that? Like reviewing the IV application?

3-would it also take 60 days to complete case and then, 60 days to send them to the American embassy in the Dominican Republic?

Basically, I am looking at another 6 months to get an interview!?

I am sorry if I am bugging too much but I am really going out of mind with this crazy and out of control visa process..

Unfortunately, yes to almost all of those questions.

1. It can take up to 60 days to review DS-261

2. It can take up to 60 days to review every single document that you send the NVC (AOS packet, DS 260, and IV packet).

3. However, once you get a CC (case complete), it should make it to the DR embassy within 30 days.

So, yes, you are looking at up to six months (or more if you get a checklist, because that's another 60 days if you have to resubmit anything). I'm in the same boat as you right now--waiting for the IV invoice. Hold strong!

Thank you all for replying to my dilemma. I guess that in a way, God works in mysterious ways. They will get here when the time is right. All I hope is that these embassies don't try to mess everybody up by denying a lot of visas because they can't just handle a flow of immigrants.

Whatever you do, DO NOT get click happy and click on the completed DS261, this will reset your time frame to review the document.

So funny! I already did that last week, lol. I was reading a post from somebody talking about checking it and making sure there were no mistake, that I ended up doing the sane thing ?. I only reset my date after a week of submitting it, which I don't think is that bad... I guess we live and learn.
