My income has been a few times the current 125% poverty line since I graduated from graduate school 3.5 years ago. I am still employed up to this point and my K-1 petition is in transition to the Packet-3 phase. My yield-to-date income this year has already way exceeded the current 125% poverty line. If I get laid off today, will it affect my K-1 petition?

Someone can correct me, but "yes" I believe so.

What you earned last year, and what you earned up to now is only part of your financial picture

that shows your earning capability, but more importantly, I think they want to see that

you currently have that (over 125% P.G.) earning because the affidavit of support can binds

you up to 10 years.

So its a matter of timing...if you can hang on until she passes interview, then you are safe for few months,

and then you have to prove it all over again during the AOS processing...but should you get laid off after the approval,

you will have this in-between time to find a new job.

Hopefully you don't have to go through that...though the only one time I got laid off,

I ended up with a better job.

Thanks for the replies. No job is secure and there is some restructuring in my company at the moment. I wish nothing will go wrong for the next few months.

I do and it is about 8X to 10X the 125% poverty line.
