Hi all,

This question is specifically for individuals who have already or are currently going through CR1/IR1 process.

  • Has anyone recently got a case complete at NVC without sending a "Police Clearance Certificate"?

I have seen contradicting information on NVC website, in Country Reciprocity table, it states PCC is nto required for consular processing but in the list of required documents, it states that PCC is required along with other required documents.

I have also seen few people getting checklist for not sending one to NVC.

Please share your experience if you (individual from Pakistan) have gotten a CC between April 2014 to July 2014.

Thank you.

-You'll have to send original, photocopy and translation too

-For police report, aside from NVC website, people at NVC too say that they do not need it for Pakistanis. But during this process I came across only one person at NVC who said us to send it. So keeping in view this contradictory comments, its better to send it as its not hard to get police report from here and also it takes only couple of days to issue it. Lets suppose! Its not required and even than you send them, whats going to happen? any harm to your case? NOOO

At most it would go in garbage. So just send it and keep yourself away from the fear of getting checklist and delay of another 60 days.

A friend of mine got a letter last week asking for the police certificate along with other required documents. I have heard contradicting reports too saying that you don't need it in NVC but need it at the time of interview and some say, don't need it at all.

I think it's better to get two copies from the police and keep one in Pakistan for during interview time and one to be submitted to NVC. That's what I'll be doing as well.

Yes, I did have my wife get the police clearance certificate from her district. It was ready in 5 days.

Yes, I did send the original documents to NVC along with photocopies of each document. Also make sure that you send them your Urdu nikkahnama as well because lot of people just send NADRA marriage certificate and they get checklisted for Urdu Nikkahnama which delay their case.

Good luck!
