i don't know. not all families would make decisions based upon the best interest of the woman.

And all woman who have abortions make the decision that is of there best interest? I know a few people who have really regretted having an abortion and still carry the pain with them. In the end if you had to have has this abortion for some extreme reason you will have an easier time looking back than if you did because you were young and scared. Adoption is an option. Newborns are easily adopted.

Who said it shouldn't have guidelines? What it should not have is heavy handed laws that punish a rape victim.

Like I said earlier it wasn't the law that failed this woman it was the people involved. What about the babies this law saved, shouldn't we consider that too?

what's your point? can a woman can make the decision to adopt without consulting others? can a woman choose to give birth without outside opinion?

just because someone could possibly make a decision you don't personally agree with doesn't mean you have the right to interfere.

I have an Ex girlfriend who got an abortion as a teenager, it definitely affected her, but not because it wasn't the right thing for her at the time. It was that she didn't feel she could talk to her family about it (because they are catholic) and didn't get the support she needed to deal with her emotions.

My point is that this is just not about the woman, there is another life involved. The woman's safety comes first and foremost! Once here safety is no longer an issue the safety of child is next in line. I don't believe that you can justify abortion at that point especially when there is such a good option like adoption.

The biggest problem with pro-choice people is that its all about the women with little regard to the unborn baby. IMO that is sad.

Society interferes with bad decisions every day, this should be no different. To have an abortion considering the talked about circumstances is a very bad decision. Adoption FTW.

Also you never answered the guideline question. A free for all when it comes to this issue? Or a meeting with the doctor is the only requirement regardless how far into the pregnancy? Where do you stand?

I'm not against abortion straight across the board.

It affected her because of the actions that were took on that day. All the feel good theapry in the world will never make her forget.

Adoption isn't right for everyone. It's not even practical in the long term.

It is right for every baby possible facing an abortion.

How is not practical?

I honestly wouldn't talk about someone you don't know as if you know something about their decision making process.

Why isnt it practical? Because the worlds population has more than doubled in 50 years. That rate of growth is unsustainable economically. More than that, it puts inordinate strain on underfunded social services departments. What are you going to do with all these babies, send them to the moon?

Its not right for the kids brought up in care, many of whom will develop personality disorders.

the article says she sought an abortion at eight weeks. completely reasonable.

where i stand? i dont think i'd ever be able to go through with an abortion. but i've never been in the position to have one, so thankfully i've never had to find out.

i do have a 12 year old though and the decision to give birth is a pretty big deal. glad it was my call.

She is human and we both know the decision she made. Most humans under those circumstance are not going to forget it for feel good about if forever with some feel good therapy.

As it stands now, couple wait a long time in the adoption process. If that ever changes and there isn't enough people to adopt then the woman needs to step up to the plate and take care of the child.

Fix the system then, don't make it the unborn baby's problem.

for someone trying to sound pro-life, that is a pretty vile and disgusting thing to say. the woman comes first? why? because she's a voter? is victory at the polls all you political hacks care about? does the kingdom of god mean nothing?
