DOS Visa Status Check- "REFUSED" ?

Hey everyone!

I checked my fiancé's status on the DOS website Friday (his case was last updated Aug. 8) and it said "REFUSED." They received the documents we sent via DHL today (all they asked for was for his passport and a new med. exam). I checked the status again today, and it said it was updated 8/18, and it still says "REFUSED." What does this mean??

Thank you. I called the consulate, and the man told me that there has been no update since Aug. 5, supposedly. He told me to give them a call again, at the end of this week.

Usually, every time they touched your case, the date will updated but does not mean would changed the status. For instance, one of my friends here had experience when the US embassy put her visa under AP. Every time she or her fiance made a call or received something from the US embassy, her CEAC status date would changed, but still under AP. When she sent more proof that the US embassy had asked, the date was changed at that day. Seems like when they received all your documents, they touched your case probably to match the information before have started processing. Her visa finally approved. The good thing is the US embassy asked to send his passport.

my husband's status was the same after the 601 approval and after he sent the passport and medical for a couple of days still. its normal dont worry, it takes a few days to update.
