Hey guys, my wife just found out that her Sputum test results are going to take 8 weeks to get the full results. Her interview is set for September 16th.

What should we do and what is going to happen with the interview and her visa?

Thanks,

The visa won't be issued until the medical is clear.

I understand that. What I am not understanding is what we should do regarding the interview?

Do we reschedule it? If so, should we just say we want it for a day after the 8 week period? How will they get the approved medical paperwork?

Does anyone have any actual experience with this?

~ Jan ??,2013 ~ Service Center ~ Vermont I-129F Packet sent

NOTE: Actual sent date unknown due to lawyer negligence - I delivered ALLForms and PAID Lawyer on Nov 7, 2012 - Lawyer kept saying he sent the packet and USCIS must have lost it. When in reality he failed to send the package and only a new copy to USCIS after I made a legal written demand giving him 10 days to perform or return ALL monies paid to him, due to "non-performance".

(IMO it's better to save your money for visits to or from your Fiancé and just fill it out yourself using the K-1 Guide on VJ and Senior Members... They Rock!!!)

Hello! Wow, this must be so frustrating for you!! However, all is not lost! My husband is from Peru and he was recently issued his CR-1 immigrant visa at the U.S. embassy in Lima (I am his U.S.-citizen wife and petitioner and I lived in Peru during the past year). My husband and I had all our paperwork at his interview and his visa was approved at the end of the interview. However, my Peruvian aunt had an interview at the U.S. embassy in Lima in April 2014 and she was not able to obtain her medical results in time for the interview. Even so, she went to the interview without the results. She had everything else and was told that the embassy would keep her passport until she mailed them the medical results. And that is exactly what happened! She left her passport at the embassy and obtained her medical results a few days later. She mailed the results via DHL, which is the mail service that the U.S. embassy uses. A week and half after mailing the medical results, my aunt received a DHL package with her passport and her visa! I also have another friend with a Peruvian husband who attempted to get her husband a visa in October 2013. However, her husband was missing police records from another country so he did not get his visa approved on the day of the interview. In fact, he did not turn in the police records until three months after his interview! After a couple of weeks, he received his passport and visa in the mail. The only surprise was that he was only given two months to leave Peru. I hope this information is helpful! If I can be of more help to you, please reach out to me!!!

March 31, 2013: We celebrated our civil marriage in Cusco, Peru
February 22, 2014: Our religious wedding! A beautiful day!
March 13, 2014: We turned in the I-130 petition in Lima, Peru (DCF filing)
March 26, 2014: Received email notice that I-130 was approved!
April 16, 2014: Interview packet arrived at our home in Cusco, Peru
May 5, 2014: Interview: APPROVED!!!!! :) :) :)
