Hi everyone.

If you could reply inline that would be awesome.

My wife is from Peru, we applied for our CR1 Visa and her interview is scheduled for September 16th, but as part of her Sputum test for the medical, she now has to undergo a 8 week period of waiting to see if her culture develops into TB.

What should we do with regards to the interview? The woman at the doctors office told her to go to the interview and they will approve the visa, but the embassy will hold on to her passport. Then when the results come in, the Embassy will mail her passport with approval then.

Something about that just doesn't seem right.

She has received her vaccinations, but today is day one of her 3 day return trip to the doctors office. When will she be able to do the bloodtest?

What should we do to minimize delays? Should we reschedule the interview? I don't see how they will approve anything without a medical complete.

Please help, please.

My best advise to you is to contact the US embassy in Lima directly and explain what happened and asked them for guidance. I tried to call them over the phone and even though the automatic message says you can talk to someone life when I get transferred to the operator I was told to email them instead as they do not received calls anymore after April this year. I emailed them and they respond very quickly. If you email them before 2pm Lima time (3pm Eastern time) they will reply quick otherwise after 3pm they may reply the next day.

Below is the email and format I used from another person here on VJ site that really helped me.

Best of luck!!

Jorge
