after waking up at 3:30 am my time :ranting: I FINALLY got my NVC cast number! They told me on the phone that it was sent out to Montreal on August 12th :dancing: . When I entered the number they gave me into the tracking system I get this message

"our case is ready for you to schedule an interview at the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal. If you have already scheduled an interview appointment, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the Consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html"

I'm not sure what this means though, I have not received the packet 3 yet, does that matter? I also haven't paid the 240$ fee. can I still schedule? I thought for some reason they would just give me a date and if it didn't work for me I could just reschedule? was that just totally wrong? or what I'm just really confused O.o. maybe it just doesn't make sense because I only got 4 hours of sleep last night? but if someone could shed some light on the situation that would be great!

I also had this status updated after the US embassy in Jakarta was received my I-129F approval from NVC. I did not received anything after got this status. For the next steps also better to post on Canada regional sub forum to get better responses.

This means your packet 3 will be on the way soon. The packet three may be available online (Vancouver's is online, not sure if Montreal is or not) or you could contact the consulate if you really want.

Next steps will be to get your criminal record check, complete the DS-160 and complete the rest of the checklist for your packet three.

Once you complete the checklist and return it to the consulate, they will email the packet IV, but this is really just a link to pay your fee and book your interview.

Congrats on getting another step closer!
