Hi everyone im new to Visa Journey and decided to join in to learn from other people experiences with i-129f.

its embarrassing asking this online i have a attorney doing everything for me but we just dont seem to get any information by him. By the way im right now in Mexico and my husband filled out everything in the US.

On August 4th, 2014 i got the email saying that my i-130 & i-129f were both approved at the same time, the waiting was almost 6 months long til i got the approval. Then on August 8th i got another e-mail saying that my i-129f was sent to NVC. On August 11th i got another e-mail saying that my i-130 was sent to NVC. And ever since i havent heard anything. My question is How much longer is the i-129f going to take in the NVC?

You are correct i called my attorney today and i finally had the chance to speak to him and he said that we might have to wait up to 60 days for i-130 and we need to get a letter from NVC where its going to let us know if the i-129f went through or if it was automatically closed!.. when should i call NVC to find out if they have recieved my packages?

you can try but it normally takes at least 2 weeks for the packages to get to the NVC from the USCIS and sometimes up to 8 weeks.

Like NLR says..2 weeks up to 8 weeks..

If you want to call to see if they received your package, you can, they may not have your case number ready yet, but they can verify they received your packet.

I would call each week until you get a case number. For me, I got a letter stating about my I129f was being closed after my I130 was sent to NVC.

are you talking about the I864? and the papers that go with that? If so, those papers will be sent to NVC after you have paid the fees online for them. (you need your case number and an invoice number to do this) Once completed with the NVC the approved papers will then be sent to the consulate by NVC.

Here is a link that may help you. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/508139-nvc-filers-august-2014/ you can also view others timelines as well! :star:

and this site is great. there are a lot of others going through the same thing. It helps to have the VJ support system!

really you'll have to wait to find out which path you're even on before you can make plans. The NVC can still close the k3 path to you.

Hi Eveliin28,

I thought I would share with you my experience with the California Service Center and my 1-129F petition.

So the USCIS approved my petition on Aug 18, 2014.

I knew the NVC was the next stop but didn't know how long it would take for the petition to arrive or be processed.

So I waited until Tuesday Sept 2, 2014 to call them and ask for the case number assigned.

I wated 45 minutes on hold to a recording saying someone will be with you momentalilly and finially a visa center agent answered.

After asking for my USCIS reciept number he said the petition had not arrived and it may take many more weeks or a month perhaps.

I called back yesterday monday Sept 8, 2014 (30 minute wait on hold) and he said the petition had already been processed by the NVC and sent off to the embassy on Friday Sept 5, 2014.

I was suprised because between 8 am Tuesday and Friday of the previous week they not only revieved my petition but processed it and sent it on the way to the embassy.

So my take on this is that the NVC can be a much faster stop for a visa petition than the USCIS service centers.

But I also think it is wise to follow up where ever the petition is to make sure it is being processed appropriatly time wise.
