Question on AP (Advance Parole)

The advance parole application asks date of intended travel and purpose of travel. The problem is that she has neither. We are only applying for it because her father (in the Philippines) is sick and could die before she gets her green card, so we just want to be ready in case that happens.

What can we put in these fields?

you can leave them blank - it is understood that the applicant might not have firm travel plans at the time of application.

use the sample form on VJ as a guide: http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-131.pdf

We just put "unknown" for the travel dates and "emergency travel" for the reason on my husband's form and it was approved.

OP, use this posters information. You can leave it blank but you might as well just put unkown and emergency travels.

Either leave blank, put unknown or in my case I just made some dates up around the time I was expecting EAD/AP to be approved.
