hello

I had an interview appointment on 10 July 2014.

the interview went well, but the officer gave me a blue sheet with a Administrative processing checkbox.

he asked me some question about my fiance's previous marriage and aslo about my workplace which was in the some it engineering companies that they work for some banks.

and then he told me normally this process would take 3-6 monthes.

I am so upset and i dont know whats the meaning of this paper.

I really appreciated if some people can help me

Thanks

Where did you interview? In Turkey?

I think I can shed some light on it because I have been through it before myself for different visa category. Mine was because of my technical education background.

The blue slip is given to you under section 221(g) of the immigration and nationality act. It can be for literally anything, from missing documents in your application, to digging for truth about your relationship to doing a background check on you on FBI database because of your background, be it technical education or your name matches with someone who is an undesirable to the United States, literally anything and it all falls under administrative processing.

Sadly, there is no time limit. But almost all people get through it and receive their visas. You have nothing to fear if you are not a criminal :-)

My administrative processing was over in 14 days, but there are people for whom it can take several months. Most consulates resolve it within sixty days. The only way it can take long time is if you have a very common name. Then they have to check many people on the database and make sure they are not you. Have patience. It will be over and you will get your visa.

your in administrative processing. All Iranians are put in AP. I was very surpised for us it was only 3 wks. For some it is a little longer. If you have an uncommon name it can go faster. Did they tell you to watch for your number on the website? They won't notify you. When you number appears you can go and give them you passport and it will take 3 to 7 days to have them put the stamp on it. Be prepared for the longer stay.

Actually, I disagree! They do not put all Iranians in AP. When I had my interview couple of years ago, among the 3 Iranians who had interview almost the same time, I was the only one who went through it! It just depends on what mood the officer who interviews you is in! THAT'S ALL!

Don't worry! You'll be here before you know - My AP lasted 17 days. I went to USCIS website and had the cellphone notification activated, so when my AP was over, I got notified. They updated their website 2 days after though because it was weekend.

Enjoy your last days, have fun with friends and relatives... soon it will be a memory!
