Unemployment - K1 visa question

I have a question re: K1 visa ---

My fiance unfairly lost his job, Would seeking unemployment compensation have any negative affect on our visa application. (Keeping in mind we DO have a eligible co-sponsor)

I'm fairly certain that that would have no bearing on the I129F. It could cause problems during the K-1 process itself. However, you mentioned you do you have an eligible co-sponsor, so I don't see any problems in your case.

It won't have a negative effect on your application. The only thing it would have affected is the sponsor requirement, but since you have a joint sponsor as long as he or he and his household make 125% of the poverty level, you should be fine.

there is no combining of income for the I-134 (which is what is most commonly used for K1 visas) so the co-sponsor has to qualify on their own. income can only be combined with household members when using the I-864 (which is what will be used later, after marriage, when applying for adjustment of status).

To the OP: As stated above, your joint sponsor has to make enough on his own.
