Questions about interview process in dublin ireland

We recieved our noa2 on aug 8. I will call nvc this week to see if they have our case yet. We are trying to prep for the interview in dublin ireland. I want to know from those who have gone through dublin:

Can you get the medical done ahead of time, before receiving packet 3? And how long is it valid for?

Does dublin accept joint sponsor for the k1? I will make 125% of the poverty line this year but last year on my tax return made a few hundred under 100% poverty line. Will a few montths of paystubs be enouph? Do I need any other documents of proof? Or should i have a joint sponsor fill out a I-134 just in case?

Does dublin ask for police certs for the beneficiary for all places lived more than 6 months or 12 months since 16? My fiance lived in lithuania for 6 months when she was 16. Also, she has lived in two cities in ireland so does she need a police cert from both cities?

Any other tips for the dublin embassy interview would be greatly appreciated. We hope to get through the last leg of this journey asap so we can stop spending so much on plan tickets and finally be able to save for our future :)

Did you already receive a notification from the USCIS that they have sent your case to the NVC? If not, don't bother calling. Just a waste of time.

Can you get the medical done ahead of time, before receiving packet 3? And how long is it valid for?

Yes, you can get it even before receiving your NOA2. They don't require any case number and it's valid for 12 MONTHS. You will need vaccination records and two AMERICAN STYLE passport photos and the cost is 395 Euro. They only schedule appointments on Wednesdays, also.

Does dublin accept joint sponsor for the k1? I will make 125% of the poverty line this year but last year on my tax return made a few hundred under 100% poverty line. Yes, you can use a joint sponsor for the K-1. I am using my mother as a joint sponsor for our K-1. I would feel more comfortable using a joint sponsor, personally, just as an extra precaution. I would recommend it for you, as well. You will need to make copies of yours and your joint sponsors tax returns from the last three years and a few months of pay stubs from either of you should be more than adequate, especially in addition to your tax records.

Does dublin ask for police certs for the beneficiary for all places lived more than 6 months or 12 months since 16? My fiance lived in lithuania for 6 months when she was 16. Also, she has lived in two cities in ireland so does she need a police cert from both cities?

When you apply for a police Cert in Ireland, you don't have to apply for one in each city. You just give them all of your previous addresses and they will run a collective check for all addresses in Ireland. And, yes, she will need police certs from Lithuania, as well, as she was 16 and lived there at least 6 months. Here is a link on obtaining a police cert in Ireland. My fiance just dropped of his request at his local garda station and got it in the mail a couple weeks later and there was no charge:

I feel your pain. I left Ireland on June 5th and I miss it and my fiance sooooooo much. We've been living apart for 6 months now and it's so hard. I'm just thankful for Skype. I almost cried when we received our NOA2, but I know the journey isn't quite over yet. I can't tell you about the interview for the K-1, as we haven't gotten to that stage yet. But he has interviewed at the embassy for his J-1 visa and it was a pleasant enough experience. The Dublin embassy has some pretty great reviews and the staff seem very friendly. Also, the staff at the Blackrock Clinic are very pleasant, as well. The good news is that if you get your police certs, medical done and all of the other paperwork before you receive your Packet 3, things should fly pretty quickly for you. That's what we're banking on, ourselves.

Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions!!

Thank you so much! Very helpful! Has your fiancé gone for his medical yet? Do they give you the medical results after your exam or are they send to the embassy? It looks like our timelines are matched up because we just got notified our petition was sent to nvc on the 18th from tsc as well! My fiancee has requested the police certs already and all I have to do is finish the i-134 for myself and my father who is cosponsoring. Im flying to dublin the second week of september so before I leave i will have my employer write a letter for my financial proof. I will be in ireland with my fiancee waiting until the interview which i am hoping will be by or before mid october so we can fly back to the US by november. Any idea how long the wait for an interview is once you send back packet 3? Will you be attending the interview with your fiance?

Yeah, he went for his medical on the 12th. They'll do the regular physical stuff, like checking blood pressure, etc. They will give her booster vaccines if she doesn't have her vaccination history or it isn't up to date, they'll take some blood samples to test for syphilis, they'll ask a bunch of questions about drug use/sexual history and they'll take chest x-rays to look for tuberculosis. She'll have to go back to pick up the medical results a week or two after the exam and then take them with her to the interview. My fiance lives in Waterford, which is a fair distance from Blackrock in Dublin, so he asked if they would post it down and they actually said they couldn't. Haha. So he's making the trip back up there literally just to pick up the results and go back home.

I'm fairly positive our other halves will have their interviews scheduled by mid-October. I'm hoping (fingers crossed) even before then, as I'd like for him to be able to fly back around the 22nd. I won't be able to make it over there anytime soon as I'm starting my final semester in college next week, unfortunately, so I can't go to the interview with him. As far as the time between Packet 3 and the interview - I've heard from MANY in Dublin that the embassy is very efficient. The wait time listed on their website is currently 2-3 days for scheduling interviews, so I imagine it could be as little as a week between Packet 3 and the interview if you have everything for Packet 3 ready to go! :)

Hi, I've been trying to find some info on the dublin embassy and came across your post. I noticed in your timeline that you got your case# from the nvc and then your case got moved to the Irish embassy. I'm wondering did you request this? I'm not sure if it makes a difference that we are applying for CR-1 but I would much rather the Dublin embassy do the process as it seems much quicker.

Thanks a million

Hey there. Yeah, the process is completely different for K-1 vs CR-1. The bulk of the time your visa is processing it will be at the NVC whereas the case only gets assigned a case # at the NVC before it's transferred to the corresponding embassy location for the K-1 (usually only spends a week or two there). It may take longer at the NVC for you, but we had to wait nearly 7 months for our petition to simply be approved. And now we're waiting for his AoS and work authorization, which you will luckily have as soon as your significant other enters the country. Haha

Hey, So I am having my medical in a few days, and was wondering when is a good time to send my notice of readiness, we don't want to have to wait longer than we need to get it moving. We accidentally got behind by a month already because we didn't realise that the embassy packet would come in via email. So can I send my notice of readiness next week even though my medical isn't until the following week, or should I wait until my medical is completed and then send it?
