Where are the comments about how all white people are bad, trouble makers that deserved to be shot and killed?

When this was about Jesse Jackson the comments were outrageous and unbelievable, except for Mr. Big Dog showing he was the only one with common sense in the thread.

Why do you ask questions you already know the answer to?

IDK, with her being the prosecutor, the right thing for her to do would have been to resign. How can you ethically prosecute people for crimes, that you yourself have been found guilty of? Not only that, but the way she behaved with law enforcement.

I doubt there are many prosecutors or ANY lawyers out there that haven't committed crimes that they prosecute others for. She should have accepted the arrest peacefully, shown remorse, and did the time for the crime. I'm sure it wouldn't have been too harsh for her.

It's one thing to commit crimes. It's something else entirely to get charged and convicted of them.

The entire kerfuffle hinges on the fact that she should have resigned but didn't and Perry should have found a legal way to remove her from office, instead of coercion.

According to the grand jury that indicted him, his crime was not to have her removed from office so much as how he went about it.

For the record, I think she should have resigned just out of sheer sense of occasion.

Not very nice, both of you.

Both violate the TOS, whether or not those are equitably enforced.

Fair enough. At this soft of a rate, you can take two more potshots at me. :)

For the record, I wasn't upset by milk monitor. Minus my belief that milk is bad for you, it was an otherwise innocuous remark. I still love you just as much!

UPDATE at 5:18 p.m. from senior political writer Wayne Slater:

AUSTIN – A defiant Rick Perry showed up for his booking and mugshot Tuesday after being charged with abuse of powers charges and pledged “to fight this injustice with every fiber of my being.”

“We will prevail,” he said at the Travis County Courthouse where supporters gathered and chanted “Perry! Perry! Perry!”

Perry turned himself shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday to be fingerprinted and have his booking photo taken.

“I’m here today because I believe in the rule of law. I’m here today because I did the right thing,” he said, saying he entered the courthouse “with my head held high knowing the actions I took were not only lawful and legal, but right.”

Gov. Rick Perry's official mugshot, taken Tuesday at the Travis County Courthouse

The Republican governor was indicted Friday on two felony counts of coercion and official oppression for promising to veto $7.5 million for the state public integrity unit run by the Travis County district attorney’s office.

The governor threatened the veto if District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg stayed in office after a drunken driving conviction.

Lehmberg wouldn’t resign, and Perry carried out the veto. A liberal group filed an ethics complaint and a Republican state district judge appointed a special prosecutor to direct the grand jury inquiry. The special prosecutor, Mike McCrum, is a San Antonio lawyer who served as a federal prosecutor in the administration of President George H.W. Bush.

Supporters and opponents gathered at the courthouse, waving placards. “Texans Stand with Rick Perry,” said one. Another said “Gee I Miss Ann Richards,” the last Democrat to serve as governor of Texas, 20 years ago.

ORIGINAL ITEM: Gov. Rick Perry plans to appear at the Travis County Courthouse this afternoon for his booking on felony charges of coercion and abuse of power — and, of course, to have his mugshot taken. He’s expected to make a statement, so check back here for updates.

Supporters are also planning a rally, according to this Facebook page.

Perry stands accused of trying to force the Travis County district attorney from office after her drunken driving arrest. For background, read Christy Hoppe’s and Wayne Slater’s story from today on Perry’s blooming legal and public relations strategy, which is partly to target the DA’s behavior the night of her arrest. A video released today by the governor’s political committee reinforces that plan.
