I just watched the video of Dorian telling someone that when the cop backed up his car to the boys, blocking both lanes of the street, the cop tried to get out, but the door "ricocheted off me and my friend cuz it was so close to us", then "the cop reached out the window and grabbed my friend by the neck with his hand and started choking him".

Now I realize he had just been thru a stressful event, but who among us can reach out a car window with one hand and choke a 6'4" large male? (Even if you could reach his neck [which I doubt], all said person would have to do is step back and you'd lose your grip.) Then the officer reached out with his other hand and tried to drag Brown into the car?

So I picture the first "grab" as happening with the left hand, as it has the most reach. But how does one even begin to grab an individual with BOTH hands while seated in a car, unless the person is either RIGHT against the car, or trying to lean in the window?

have you thought about the possibility that cops do stupid things like grab a kid through a car window because they know that they're untouchable?

ferguson cops charged a guy they beat with bleeding on their uniforms "destruction of property"

i mean if i had procedures in place to make sure i didn't overstep the bounds of force, but i know those were just suggestions and no actual consequence will come of it..what's stopping me?

I realize you have very strong feeling against cops, but that does not negate the logic of what I said. I challenge you to try and choke someone six feet or taller with one hand from your car seat.

my personal feelings about cops (which you misunderstand) have nothing to do with what i asked. i can see where challenging your safe little world where cops don't overstep their bounds and all victims are justified can be uncomfortable.

more than one witness the cop reach and brown pulling back. of course you don't give any credit to any witnesses either.

1991, 1988..let's keep talking about al sharpton because he's the issue.

Of course he is. If him and Jesse weren't around, there wouldn't be any racial issues. Don't you get it?

Racism is all black people's fault. We're the problem. If we would just stop being, what's the word, black, everything would be peachy keen.

It's pretty clear based on your posts that you've already made up your mind this cop executed this guy without any reason whatsoever. Any points or posts made contrary to to your belief are discarded out of hand. I'm no fan of the cops, but so far there's zero credible evidence that this shooting wasn't justified, and quite a bit of evidence to show that it was. Of course it's probably best to wait for ALL of the evidence before drawing any conclusions. I suspect in the end it will just be some bonehead that thought it was a good idea to go all Trayvon Martin on a cop, and it got him killed. No more, no less.

I rolled by CNN last night (not sure why) The big breaking news was that some guy in his house allegedly caught the gunshots recorded on a Skype call he was having with someone else. CNN ate it up. They got all the experts lined up to say that the gap in time between shots proved something. They stated once or twice that there was no corroboration for this evidence, but man they ran with it. I'm somewhat surprised there's not pages and pages of posts here about this.

I don't misunderstand them, I have read several times here how you feel. And I feel somewhat the same way in that I think police brutality should be stopped. Officers who use excessive force should be fired, plain and simple. However, I ALSO understand the dynamics of an officer's job is such that they are on edge from the word go on many calls, because they have to prepare for the worst (particularly in domestic violence calls).

My little world is safer than some people's because I make it habit NOT to challenge police. I do that by trying not to break the law; but if I do happen to break the law, or perhaps be stopped by accident (as the woman pulled from her car incident), I would comply with the cop's instructions. In my little world, I have been very fortunate to only see cops behaving badly on the news. Hopefully it stays taht way, and the number of incidents decrease as guilty cops are removed from the force(s).

Of course I give credit to witnesses... and because ole Dorian was directly involved with Brown, and particularly because he may have been the other perp in the convenience store video, I give less credence to his "eye wtiness testimony" as it were. Criminals tend to lie about their acitivities.

Racism is definitely not all black peoples fault. But I do believe we are reaching a tipping point where a lot of people are becoming unsympathetic to the plight, for a various number of reasons. The way the black community has handled this Michael Brown shooting is a very good example of what turns people away and makes them indifferent to your problems.

I've tried to say that exact thing multiple times in different threads, but I don't think I did a very good job of it. The post above is spot on.

Ever see what is inside the front seat of a police car today. computers the whole 9 yards... Zero room. No officer in the United states would try to pull anyone into the front seat of their police car. . What they saw was the thug leaning in and trying to obtain the officers gun. .. Well how did he get there,, officer pulled him inside the car. .. Have to make something up to fit the Crump story.

that's just not true. i have an idea of what i think happened, based on what i read. i've said it over and over, i think this country has a major problem brewing with our police. i see examples of this all over the place and my concerns are not confined to racial lines. i can't help the racial tension in this country - it is what it is. i do believe that there are many media outlets that fuel fear of black people in this country. they're the same media outlets that want us to fear isis - so americans will give a blank check to go "wipe them out" like that will ever happen.

i saw that too, i also read about the source of the info so i left it alone.

if i believe that cops are exhibiting a real zeal for exessive force and that, in combo with their militarization. is a serious problem on many levels. one level being the saftey of good police officers. but no one will probably even consider that remark coming from me, because i just hate cops.

and this is why dorian did not lie to the fbi when he was interviewed?

they're my opinions, and if you believe that i hate all cops - you misunderstand my opinions. simple as that.

I agree with you that there's an issue with civilian law enforcement deploying military grade weapons, vehicles etc. That's gotten way out of hand. As I said I'm no fan of the cops either. I question the motivations of some of them to become police officers. I think there's more than a few that aren't in it solely to help out the public. I suspect there's more than a few out to "settle scores" with the public. It aint exactly a high paying job.
