Let me see, if I can remember this or not, but weren't there lots of blacks growing up in single parent homes since the beginning of when they came to America?

Hate to jump in with facts, but out of wedlock births have grown from about 20% in 1960 to about 80% today.

Oddly enough 1960's is when the massive federal govt programs started.. I wonder if there is any correlation ?

I don't know about most, but a large amount of the settlers of my state were brought over as servants and they were white. That in no way diminishes the horror of slavery in the US or the plight of our black citizens in our history

I'm still waiting for the facts to come out. This stuff has been all over the place. If the officer was injured by Brown, the whole innocent kid thing went out the window. If he hit the kid with 5 non lethal shots in the arm area, it could indicate that he was trying to stop him without killing him. Or maybe he made several bad shots to the arm. If the kid attacked the cop or even grabbed him, he was not an innocent little kid.

I am most interested in hearing about the cops injuries. If he has injuries, he was assaulted. Now it's not a kid gunned down for no reason.

Well.. A portion of the white slaves went to the US.. The rest went to South America (Brazil) and parts of the Caribbean.. at the time Irish were not really considered "white" by the English. When the men were sent to North America as indentured servants they were not allowed to take their wife or children. The vast majority of these were auctioned off as slaves. The total number put into slavery was around 300,000. They outnumbered African slaves until the early 1700s.

I beleive the total number of Africans brought over as slaves was in the 11 million range?

Michael Brown, and his accomplice, Dorian Johnson were no angels. In fact, Michael Brown's buddy, Dorian Johnson has a history of police involvement and telling lies. Remember now, he's the guy who told the police, and the public that his angelic buddy was shot down in the street like a dog with his arms raised, and while trying to surrender. There has not been a 'smidgen' of forensic evidence to bear out his obvious lie and witnesses who differ from that of angry mobs must remain hidden due to death threats.

Which leads to the natural question: “why wasn’t he arrested” ?

Dorian Johnson, the friend of Michael Brown who claims he witnessed the police shooting death of the 18-year-old in Ferguson, Missouri, has an outstanding arrest warrant for theft, according to authorities.

Barbara Schaffer, court clerk for the Municipal Court of Jefferson City, confirmed to WND there is a warrant for Johnson’s arrest for a 2011 incident. Johnson was arrested June 24, 2011, and a trial was set for July 31, 2013, but he did not appear in court, authorities said.

According to the arrest report, obtained by WND, Dorian J. Johnson, 22, was arrested June 24, 2011, by Jefferson City, Missouri, police after a report of a suspect walking away from an apartment with a package that contained a backpack. Police reported Johnson lied to them about his identity.

In an interview with WND, Johnson’s attorney, former St. Louis Mayor Freeman Bosley Jr., acknowledged his client had been arrested in Jefferson City for theft of a parcel. Bosley insisted the case was “resolved.”

“He was held in jail in St. Louis for 14 days, waiting on Cole County to come get him, based on the warrant,” Bosley said. “They never came, so the city let him go.”

But Schaffer said there is an order for Johnson’s extradition if he is arrested within a 50-mile radius of Jefferson City. Ferguson, a St. Louis suburb, is more than 100 miles from Jefferson City.

More on Michael Brown's accomplice, Dorian Johnson's history of lying to police:

The police report of the 2011 theft for which Johnson was arrested, said the suspect abandoned the box that contained the backpack near a YMCA and then went inside. Police identified Johnson based on surveillance videos and approached him in the facility.

He identified himself as “Derrick” but later was found to be Dorian J. Johnson. He was charged with larceny, with an added count for the false identification.

Officers also reported he falsely claimed he was 16 years old – he was 19 at the time – and hid an ID card in his sock.

Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson Has a Serious Online Fan Club

A support page for Ferguson police Officer Darren Wilson, the man who shot and killed 18-year-old Michael Brown, has brought in more than $27,000 in the last day.

“We stand behind Officer Darren Wilson and his family during this trying time in their lives,” the GoFundMe page’s creators write. “All proceeds will be sent directly to Darren Wilson and his family for any financial needs they may have including legal fees.”

The page was launched two hours before news broke that the first autopsy on Brown’s body showed the unarmed teenager had been shot at least six times, including two shots to the head.

Reached for comment, the administrator of the fundraising campaign, identified as Allison Wilson, asked The Daily Beast for privacy.

“We are not interested in speaking with the press at this time,” Wilson said. “Please do not attempt to contact myself or any member of my family. Thank you for your understanding.”

Where Are the National Democrats on Ferguson?

There is something very strange about the national political reaction to the protests in Ferguson, Mo., (and nationally) over Michael Brown’s shooting. The protesters are angry, and they’re not aimlessly angry. They have a specific set of policy grievances about policing and criminal justice that are shared by a large slice of the electorate, particularly the Democratic primary electorate.

Yet no national Democratic politician, nobody of the sort who is likely to mount a presidential run anytime soon, has risen to give voice to the anger we’re seeing in Ferguson. Nobody seems eager to make police abuses or racial injustice a key issue in a national campaign, even though an awful lot of Democratic voters could be activated on those issues.

Why not? African-Americans are a hugely important Democratic Party constituency. Gallup data suggests 22 percent of self-identified Democrats are black. Exit polls showed black voters made up one-third of North Carolina primary voters in 2008 and a majority in South Carolina. If there were an incident of similar salience to a group that made up such a large share of the Republican base, you can bet a number of Republican politicians would be lining up to associate themselves with the protesters.

CNN reporter concedes that Officer Wilson may have actually been punched in the face by Michael Brown. Well, sort of:

I want to make sure after yesterday’s post that everyone knows it’s still in dispute whether Wilson’s eye socket was actually fractured in his altercation with Michael Brown.

What’s apparently not in dispute is that Wilson somehow emerged from the incident with part of his face swollen.

Is the truth important in this case, or is it better to come forward with a spun and safe narrative?

Via RCP, here’s CNN noodling the credibility of witnesses in the case. Brooke Baldwin makes a fair point: A population that’s afraid of its police force might be reluctant to come forward in a case like this and tell the police things they don’t want to hear. One virtue of the Ferguson protests is that they may have emboldened some witnesses with facts that incriminate Wilson to speak up.
