You know my problem. I keep learning the same lesson over and over with Wimmnes. I pay a woman a compliment, and expect some acknowledgment that , wow he is making an attempt to be nice. What do I get. Something that happened a year ago, then I get surprised once again. Why do i keep getting surprised, when i should have learned by know this is typical .

Oh Harpa I am borrowing this trick from you

Mood indicator-- :)

i'm was saying, i'm legitimately surprised. we've fought about that premise at length. if you've changed your view, it's surprising. i wasn't trying to be mean or step on your toes.

but i have to point out - saying you agree with me is not paying me a compliment. it's paying yourself a compliment because now you're right! just like me! lol.

If the burglar's lucky, someone would just point the gun at him and tell him not to move and call the police. Telling him to run away is nonsense.

Yeah, sure, that's fine.

My friend's little sister woke up in the middle of the night with a man staring at her in her bedroom, and what did she do? She chased him away in her pajamas with no glasses on. She ran straight at him and screamed and he ran out of the house. See what a teenage girl can do?

I don't know what the eff that guy was doing, but I think most burglars do not want to harm people, they want to steal. They don't want to turn and shoot you, and probably won't. I wonder what percentage of burglars are even armed. I know that things happen in the moment, but I think that mentally preparing to kill an intruder all the time is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

And supposed he was a serial rapist that stalked her for a few weeks. I doubt her plan would have worked so well.

Uh, he probably did stalk them for a while, because he knew his way around the house and ran away from the parent's bedroom on his way out.

It wasn't a plan, it was a reaction. And it worked great. Good girl.

Lots of good stories with positive outcomes, here is one.

Police said there was a struggle between the intruder and Coker, but Coker was able to get away.

"The homeowner was able to retrieve a firearm and the suspect of the robbery was deceased at the scene," said Sgt. Michael Paul.

Coker and his wife, Pam, were taken to UF Health with non-life-threatening injuries consistent with blunt force trauma, according to JSO.

That is a good story, with a near perfect outcome. I would prefer there was no loss of life, but as I have said, break into someone's home, you might get dead.

I'm thinking "wow" too LIB. Wow, what that girl did was amazing! And all without a gun, magine that?

I have to call BS here. Nothing good ever comes from not involving a gun. If you don't have a gun, you're dead.

Yes, that's right. My not being dead yet is a true miracle. Praise the Lord!
