I assume the police station is in their neighborhood. Why don't they go there and loot or burn that place? It seems the problem they have is with the cops. I'm guessing they wont do that out of fear of being shot. The point I'm making is that if the police can't protect you from these criminals, than it seems you should arm yourself and protect your property. Seems to work for the police.

i think the problem right now is the community feels it needs protection of police. i mean, yes, there has been looting. but i was watching the vice live feed last night and i didn't see anything but regular peaceful protesting.

I fond it odd that they cause trouble in their own neighborhood. Why don't they go cause trouble with the cops at the police station since they're the ones they have the beef with? Why interfere with everyone elses daily lives?

Look at Rambo when he had a beef with the cops. He went and blew up the cop shop. Although I think he did cause destruction throughout the rest of town, so maybe not a good analogy.

I've answered this like 100 times.

What would be the outcome if they stormed the police station? Do you think that restraint you're talking about would be showed if they showed up? There would be a slaughter, period. And there wouldn't be a trial.

You got cops saying f****** bring it animals. They would shoot them with no regards, and then go order take out.

I think at this point it will not matter, if a video comes out of him grabbing the officers gun and beating him in the face

The accounts of what happened are at opposite ends of the spectrum. The cop knows what really happened, or how it appeared to him. Did Brown try to prevent the cop from getting out of the cruiser or did the door hit him in the leg when the cop was getting out as has been claimed? Did the cop overreact and think the kid slammed the door on him? Did the cop reach out the window and grab Brown because of this? Did Brown simply struggle to get free? Very important details. Is it even possible to get an accurate picture of what happened during this confrontation?

I think I understand now. They wont go cause trouble with the folks they have the beef with (the police) because they might get shot. However, they'll ruin a bunch of other people's days loot. steal, burn etc. because they're less likely to get shot. It seems like you just made a really good case for the 2nd amendment and people arming themselves. One of the complaints I hear from the gun nuts on a regular basis is "I should be able to protect myself when the cops can't"

I may have to change my opinion on the this gun nuttery.

True. Now the Black Panthers are involved trying to keep the peace, along with a motorcycle gang. Looks like black people in the community are stepping up and taking charge. I'm glad. They just declared a state of emergency for military members going there. I can't even go and see my mom.

I saw 2 Black local preachers speaking on the News last night. (being interviewed on the streets) they were really impressive.

I will give the local guys trying so hard to ratchet it back some credit.

No, what I've done is shown how black people are viewed in this country.

Ask yourself. Do you really think if they showed up to the police station they'd be restraint in terms of how they deal with the protestors? There are rules of escalation that don't get followed all the time. Same logic when people ask why they tear up their own neighborhoods instead of the burbs.

I would say that if you storm Police HQ, yes you are going to get a bit of a different response than if you storm the 7-11, and rightly so. To not expect a last ditch escalated response is insane.

I've always found it silly that people need to have an arsenal of weapons to protect themselves. Also, that there's no good reason for citizens to be armed in 2014. This Ferguson thing seems to be making the case that it's good to be armed when the cops are unwilling/unable to do their jobs.

They would be met with an increased response, that would escalate to whatever degree was needed to keep the Police force up and running, and rightly so.
