right, i was thinking more along the lines of all the white collar crime that goes completely unchecked. is it a crime if you're not caught? anyway i'm not interested in breaking down crimes by race, i'm more interested in going beyond the white collar crime, the real high dollar sort.

I think I know what you mean now. Not one person was ever convicted, or even charged for the mess in 2005-2008 that almost destroyed the U.S. economy. When people bring up corruption in Thailand, I just kinda laugh. Thailand and just about any other country in the world, are amateurs when compared to what goes on in the U.S. concerning corruption.

Which country has the bigger problem with corruption? The country where the cop on the street in Bangkok is taking a $10 bribe to look the other way for a traffic violation vs. the country where rich bankers almost destroy the world economy with the tacit support of Congress and regulators that are supposed to be overseeing them.

exactly, we don't go after the real money. we'll spend thousands upon thousands of dollars incarcerating a person for years over a drug addiction even when no "crime" has been committed or any other non violent, property related crime. i mean which is it and who's property is being protected really? it makes no sense to me. when i think about it too much i have to keep myself from breaking out the tinfoil.

Does anybody know if the Westboro Church will be attending the funeral?

I worked for a Kaolin company for almost 15 years. We mined and processed it. In the early 90's our company built a 50 Million dollar expansion to manufacture an innovative new paper coating technology. There was mas corruption during the building process, materials ordered that were never delivered but invoiced etc. That was the small part.

They released big press announcements about the new technology, which was BS. They had a big public roll out, bused in stock holders and investors. They told them we had more orders than we could fill. The reality was that as the tour group approached we turned the equipment on, because our tanks were full and we had no orders. The stock shot from around 2 dollars per share to around 25 if I remember correctly . Then all the officers cashed in stock options they had been getting for years. Made millions

Then the stock holders got wind, when he price starting dropping. They sued and got awarded millions, which was paid by the company, not the crooks that pulled the swindle.

The executives got to keep their money, the big stock holders got money back. The company went out of business a few years later. the banks lost big money and all the workers lost their jobs

####### like this happens every day

Name of the company was Nord kaolin

IDK, there seems to be an attitude with a lot of folks in this country that it's fine to break the law. The govt. has taken the extreme action of dishing out ultra long prison sentences, which I believe has directly affected the reduction in crime over the last two decades. This is the lazy and easy (and seems to be popular) way of fixing the problem. I think only China incarcerates more of its citizens than the U.S.

I've spent time in prisons and jails over the years, the longest being 2 years in the Fed back in the 80s. One thing I took away from that experience is that the majority of the folks there were decent people that made bad decisions based on drug abuse. Most were there for trafficking drugs, and the majority of the rest were there for committing crimes to get drugs. That said, those bad decisions affect a lot of innocent people. A lot of them were doing life on the installment plan, meaning they commit one crime, get out, violate parole or commit another crime, go back again, on and on and on.

I remember my cellmate being on TV testifying in front of a congressional panel about using a CIA plane to transport weapons to some guerillas in central America, and then using the same plane to transport massive amounts of drugs back to the U.S.

Our prisons are full of drug offenders, which is absurd. Yet people that use the system to steal millions go free

I worked for a company similar to that during the early 2000s tech boom. I was worth 1.8 million on paper at one point. The company was more interested in issuing press releases than generating a profit. I think I ended making about $20k out of it all, and that was more than just about every other employee.

“Yesterday KSDK showed the video of the Ferguson Police Officer’s home in our 5 p.m. news but did not mention the address of the home. KSDK immediately felt using that video was a mistake and pulled the video of the home from future newscasts and from our web site. We have not used the video since then and do not intend to do so. We apologize to our audience, to the surrounding neighborhoods, to the greater St.Louis community and to the officer for our mistake.”

CNN’s video is still available online while Newschannel 13 is repeating the report on the hour as of this writing.

A local newspaper named the street where Wilson lives, adding that the area high school closed and sent students home when Wilson’s name was made public. Local police reportedly monitored the streets to ensure the safety from any potential lynch mob of the school kids heading home.

In the aftermath of the Trayvon Martin shooting George Zimmerman had to go in to hiding even though he had not been charged with a crime. Additionally, his parents were forced to flee their home as the lynch mob threatened them too. Incorrect addresses for the Zimmermans were sent out on social media forcing others to flee in terror for fear of being mistaken for the Zimmermans.

The New Black Panthers are leading a march in Ferguson, Missouri tonight.
Over a thousand people are marching.

The Black Panther are chanting:

What do we want?
– Darren Wilson
How do we want him?
– Dead

Amazing.

Screw the facts. Get a rope. I find it odd that none of these folks have any facts, yet are calling for the guy's head.

I don't find it amazing. I find it par for the course.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
