I hope this is the right place for this question... (If it isn't, I know someone will tell me!)

I haven't posted anything on this website yet, but I've been a member for quite a while. I've seen several things about being able to expedite the process at the NVC. I'm assuming this is after the AOS and IV packages are completely finished? I'm working on completing the DS-260 this weekend, and all paperwork should be at the NVC next week. Our lawyer should receive it all Friday or Monday. Then, after compiling everything, he will send it all to the NVC.

Is there anyway I can expedite the case from there? I was told that there is no way, but I've seen many people talking about it...

My husband's job is seasonal, and if he misses the hiring window, he won't be able to work in his profession for another year. I'm desperate.

We've been waiting over a year and four months for this visa. We are living in Myanmar now, where we met and have both been working since 2010.

Any words of wisdom for us?

I know you can expedite USCIS for several reasons that are listed in USCIS memos, and some embassies expedite for medical reasons...(and apparently some don't).

Severe financial loss IS an expedite criteria for USCIS anyway.

There is probably some way to get the NVC to expedite.

Since I went through this and saw several people get expedites I know for USCIS the BEST way is to CALL the service center....then explain that you are requesting an expedite, then they ask you why, then you tell them, and some people find there cases approved quickly after that, others get calls for evidence, and others hear nothing....it seems very random. I say one person on immigrate2us get an expedited 601 waiver because she had mono for 3 weeks and could not work. Approved in only a couple weeks, no evidence was asked for..

...other people seem to have serious situations and get no expedite.

I heard another guy get his 129F expedited..he called and told them he was losing a week of work....that was CA service center and he got approved next day or two...no evidence.

I personally wrote in to USCIS with evidence and got no reply, although my case did go through 601 approval in only 3.5 months, that might just be standard now since its faster.

You should CALL the main NVC number and specifically ask to be expedited. They will likely ask you why, be ready. They may or may not ask for evidence...you may get no where or you may get it fast.

Why not try?

NVC is apparently a total mess now though...so have realistic expectations....be friendly even if they are nasty to you...and even try a second call if the first operator gives you no help.

Good luck...absolutely CALL.....I doubt writing in or sending email will get you very far although you can try it also...it won't hurt.

There are some people out there who will try to get you to NOT do it, and some people will tell you its impossible...its really random and on a case by case basis and seems to depend upon who you talk to at the various agencies....

Don't believe anyone who tells you it will HURT or delay your case....it should not hurt your case or slow your case down...worst case they say no.

To be honest , it pure luck to get case expedite....a friend got her case expedite by directly send the inquiry to the embassy and NVC forwarded the case to the embassy and she got visa approved btw it's due her medical concern.

Honestly , i'd not suggest you do it though because NVC is backlog now they are busy as hell as told earlier by averageguy6 , unless it's life concern then consider trying it because chance are below 40% .

Ring NVC and ask them but be patient and forgive their unusual behaviors , they are at mess now , i'd not mind and completely understand them because it is impossible to control their temper at this work rate

Choices are your , one thing to keep in mind is that it will not effect your case even they reject the approach.

It worth a try , it won't hurt but in my opinion yes my opinion only you will likely to be reject the approach to expedite
