My fiance' is freaking out, because her neighbor has told her that as of 2013 now Americans have to visit their fiance' a minimum of 3X's to get the K-1 VISA through the Manila office. Is there ANY truth to that. It is the first time I have ever heard of anything like that. Her neighbor just finished her Medical, and yes he did visit 3X's to get enough evidence. I guess I need enlightened/reassured that I won't have to visit 3X's before she can come over. I love visiting PI, but I want to start my life soon with my fiance' here ASAP.

I think this is not true. Haven't heard from other K1 fiancee that this a new requirement.

We were approved by USCIS after one visit.

Many have been approved with only one visit.

It makes it easier for the co to decide to approve if there are more visits, or if you go to the interview, but its not required.

You will hear a lot of things from a lot of different people through the process. Lots of hearsay. My cousins aunts brother said.....

Every case is different, and there are some mean people out there that just give bad info because they want to see you squirm.

Bottom line, DONT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU HEAR. ask for opinions/experiences, but in everything, your mileage may vary.

Only one visit within the past two years is necessary to meet the USEM requirements for a K1 visa.

Find new neighbors... "crab mentality" in action.

You need only have met once within the past two years to met the petition requirement for USCIS. For the visa application at the embassy you need evidence of an ongoing relationship... and a variety of other requirements after that, but that is just paperwork

Not even close to being true. I only visited my fiancée ONCE last November and I filed the petition in April. My 2nd visit to see her was for her visa interview and bring her back home with me.

Yeah, it's unfortunately common there to have people say something to that effect... all I can think of is that they have gone through more stuff than your fiancee did so it would be "unfair" for someone to be approved for "less effort" ... hence the misinformation dissemination to seemingly "come out ahead."

False. You can always get accurate information directly from the source: http://www.uscis.gov/family/family-us-citizens/fiancee-visa/fiancee-visas

However, more meetings make it easier to demonstrate a real relationship, but you only have to meet once. Just make sure there is plenty of supporting evidence of the relationship, such as emails, chat logs, phone records, gifts, etc...
