HI. Im new to this forum, because i feel that i am groping in the dark regarding F1 to AOS. After reading your situation, i think that "i will be going through the same situation you are now". I am in F1, and struggling to enroll this coming fall since they hiked the tuition fee as well as the required health insurance. Im leaning towards not enrolling this fall. My situation goes: I came in as visitor, then applied for AOS for F1 so i can pursue a degree, i applied for F1 July 2013, and was approved October 2013. During the proess of F1 application, i got married to a green card holder august 2013. But we never thought of applying for another AOS because we were unaware of it and since I was overwhelm in preparing for school which started Jan 2014. And because we are from different state, i am in california and his work in Las vegas. During spring class, we just meet weekends and special holidays. My husband became US citizen december 2013. Now that summer break, we were told to file for petition and AOS so that i dont have to worry about obscene amount of tuition fee as a foreign student. My questions are: 1) will I be out of status if i will not enroll this fall? (We just mailed our application packet this week)

2) being out of school, wil this be a ground for denial of AOS since we are in different state?

any comments and suggestions i will appreciate

thanks

thanks Happy forever, youve shed light in some of my worries. so tuition fee will still remain the same, what about units? having a 12 unit minimum requirement really is too much for me. Its ok that they increased the tuition fee, but can I less units after I get a PR??

Once you become an LPR from an F1 Student Visa, you don't even have to attend school, unless you want to.
