Hi :

My mother got her green card based on my citizenship ( IR 5 Category).

1. when is she allowed to file for her citizenship is it after 5 years , 3 years or 4 years 9 months. Is it any thing different from the employment based green card.

2. What the max time she can stay out of US in one calendar year ( 365 days) .

3. What option does she have to stay beyond a year without losing her permanent residency status.

Thanks forum .. hope to get some answers.. I am also checking the USCIS website too.

It could be as quick as 5 years minus 90 days , however and stay out of the US of more than 6 months may interupt the timeline and stays of over a year may reset the time line. Without a re entry premit she needs to live in the US more than out. She must also file taxes

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
