Hello!

Our case shows ready on the CEAC website (It showed ready just a moment ago) I assumed this means they consulate in Mexico already has it. So I went a head and called them to try to schedule interview, they said they still don't have our case information in the system and that I have to wait for the NVC to send a letter to the petitioner in the US. She said once the petitioner receives the letter I can move forward. I read somewhere else that they were going to send this letter to me (Beneficiary) , Does anyone know what they do and who they send the letter too?

How long does it take to get the letter and who can we call to inquire if they sent it already and to which address?

Hope somebody can help

Philippians 4: 6-7. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

NVC will send a letter to the petitioner with the case number and information that the case file is then forwarded to the consulate.

Recent NVC processing time for an I-129f is about 2- 5 weeks from receipt of NOA2 hard copy, but some folks are able to get the case number when they call NVC to inquire after 10 business days: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/nvc/nvc-contact-information.html

Consulates (most if not all) will also send out K1 Packet 3 instructions to the beneficiary once they receive the case files from NVC. Not sure about the timeframe for this in Juarez. Hopefully, somebody who went through your consulate will chime in.

Thanks for taking the time to reply! We already got our case number and it shows ready in the NCV website. What I am wondering is if they will send something to me, the beneficiary, I hope they sent whatever its need to the petitioner, because shortly after we filed I found out the street I live in had both east and west numbering, So in my street there is a 509 West and I am 509 East and I am so nervous they deliver it to the wrong place.

Did your fiance receive the NVC letter too? That's what the embassy was referring to when you mentioned in your first post "She said once the petitioner receives the letter I can move forward."

If you have given the embassy your case number during your call and it's not showing up in their system, then it's most likely that they haven't received your files yet. Maybe give it a few more days to call again and check?

You do not have to wait for the actual letter from the NVC, but you need to wait until CDJ has received your file. You can get that info and your CDJ case# by calling the NVC.

There is no actual packet. Juarez just sends a letter. The letter you receive points you to the sites where the instructions, forms and place to schedule your appointment and interview is. The letter is the only 'packet' you will receive. You do not have to wait for the letter to begin filling out forms and scheduling appointments. The letter will be needed by the K-1 applicant at their ASC, medical and interview in Juarez, along with the confirmation page from the DS-160. if you do not receive it before going to Juarez, you can get the letter printed out from the information window at the consulate before going to your medical and appointments.

Here are the forms: http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/fianceforms.html ,

instructions (very important to follow and they explain a lot): http://photos.state.gov/libraries/ciudadjuarez/231771/PDFs/k1k4dec13.pdf ,

schedule interview and ASC: http://mexico.usvisa-info.com , and

CDJ info: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Mexico&cty=Juarez

While waiting, you can read through the reviews to see how the procedure works and what documents were needed by others applying for a K-1: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Mexico&cty=&dfilter=5

Thank you so much!! We got our case number CDJXXXXXXXXXX yesterday and this morning it changed from in transit to ready, maybe I just need to give it a couple of days to call back. I assumed ready meant that they had our case info, so as soon as it showed ready I called the consulate and they told me it wasn't showing in their system yet.

I am so excited our case is moving, I am ready to start the rest of my life next to my handsome man :)

Hola KayDeeCee :content: ,

I hope I don't have to ask more questions... but here I go again... I called the Consulate and they confirmed they have my case, they told me they will send a letter to my physical address to schedule the appointments, I am planning on login in tomorrow or Wednesday to fill out DS 260 and try to schedule appointments, will it be a problem if I don't have the letter yet?

Thanks in advance

Yes, you can fill out the form, pay the fee and schedule appointments without having the letter. You need the letter when you go to your medical, ASC and interview though. Make sure you fill out the DS-160 and not the DS-260 though. DS-160 is for the K-1.

God is good!!!

I am leaving for my interview next week and I decided to arrive a day earlier just to give myself time to get the letter because I thought it was not going to arrive on time..... well... My fiance just got it and sent me a copy! I am so happy!

And yes, as everyone else was saying, it is just a letter with reference to the websites where the actual instructions are. However at the top of the letter you can read:

PRESENT THIS LETTER AT YOUR INTERVIEW, IF YOU DO NOT, YOU WILL BE TURNED AWAY.

Philippians 4: 6-7. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Hello... :)

Ciudad Juarez is the only consulate in Mexico that processes this type of visas. There is no need to contact any other consulate. You can call the consulate in Juarez to confirm they have your case (Give it a day or 2) they will also confirmed once they have sent you the letter. Once they confirm they have your case you can go ahead and start filling out the form , pay the visa fee and schedule the interview.

Hi, my fiancé received the letter in the States about 2 weeks later, he scanned it and sent it to me, that's what I used for my visit to Juarez , my letter arrived to my address in Mexico after I had the interview and all!!!

They actually send out the letters from El Paso, TX, that's why it takes longer to arrive to the beneficiary's address.
