According to my dad who sent me the link and is also a retired AA (767) pilot, this guy was a "little" hot on landing and probably well in excess of the 'Vref' or 'landing reference speed'.

I think your dad forget the part , that the pilot was in a flight simulator when he exceeded Vref .

If that was indeed possible, which I don't think it is, it would have ended in a terrible accident .

Why?

I'm no aviation genius, but it appear that the wing flaps which help stop the plane and force the rear of the plane down failed to deploy. looks very plausible to me.

I thought wing flaps increased the lift coefficient, lowered stall speed allowing for a steeper and slower approach. Maybe they lied to me in flight school

I've reviewed the video and GD it NB is on point. This is simulated video. Stop it at 0:19 and look at the field lights levitating.

I'm kicking my old man's ### next time I seem him, makin me look a fool here on the VJ.

His Whiskey vision must be getting worse, not the first time he's been fished in online, old people should stay the hell off the interweb.

Sorry for posting #######.

No it's all good. We just goofing. It is an excellent fake. What was presented is just not possible.

Anyway it was Teddy, with all his look how smart I am and what a dummy NB is comments, that exposed his limited knowledge of physics, however limited knowledge of a subject has never stopped him from proclaiming loudly before. . Aerodynamics, are just one of the many disciplines I am somewhat familiar with. I was on my phone when I first saw this, and could not see the scenery in detail, but I knew that this was outside the laws of physics. Airplanes with a center of gravity that far forward would not only not fly, they could not land, without massive amounts of vectored thrust, which would be impractical.

Knowing it not possible I blew it up when I got home, to look for the editing clues, so I could take some wind out of Teddy's Usual boasting and pontification and noticed the flight sim give always.

Bottom line is you can argue politics and common sense with these leftnistas, all day and never get anywhere, because it always boils down to opinion. However when it comes to science, their is very little tolerance for the ill informed and those who assert scientific opinion as fact.

Oh. One more thing Teddy. The flaps you said did not deploy. I think you were reaching for slats and/or spoilers.

Regardless of the physics, this was certainly a disarming experience.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Good golly, snort another Ambien NB. Evidently controlling your emotions is not one of your "disciplines". I mistakingly referred to a spoiler as a flap and you wet your pants with glee. As I stated, I'm no aviation genius. I simply stated my opinion based on the limited amount of take offs and landings I have witnessed. I get that being right is such a rare occurrence for you that it can be difficult to restrain yourself, but you really need to do a better job.

I did in fact call them "flaps" in error and they are indeed called "spoilers". The rest of what I said in regards to the spoilers aiding in slowing the plane and reducing lift is completely correct. I never inserted "scientific opinion" as I am not qualified to have any in this case. You've failed at reading comprehension yet again.

In aeronautics, a spoiler (sometimes called a lift dumper) is a device intended to reduce lift in an aircraft. Spoilers are plates on the top surface of a wing that can be extended upward into the airflow to spoil it. By so doing, the spoiler creates a controlled stall over the portion of the wing behind it, greatly reducing the lift of that wing section. Spoilers differ from airbrakes in that airbrakes are designed to increase drag without regard to affecting the lift, while spoilers reduce lift as well as increase drag.

Spoilers fall into two categories: those that are deployed at controlled angles during flight to increase descent rate or control roll, and those that are fully deployed immediately on landing to greatly reduce lift ("lift dumpers") and increase drag. In modern fly-by-wire aircraft, the same set of spoilers serve in both functions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spoiler_%28aeronautics%29

Well I hate to be bobby bubble buster but --You did not say they reduced lift.

Here is what you said Teddy= "'Im no aviation genius, but it appear that the wing flaps which help stop the plane and force the rear of the plane down failed to deploy. looks very plausible to me."

Here is what you claimed you said -"The rest of what I said in regards to the spoilers aiding in slowing the plane and reducing lift is completely correct"

Now here is your daily aerodynamics lesson and no, I don't have to google-- Forcing the rear of the plane down or up is the job of the elevator not the spoilers or the flaps. Spoiler don't really slow the plane although that is a secondary effect and are used to aid in it on landing many times. Spoilers alter the top edge of the wings surface (usually) , causing a pressure increase on the top and decrease on the bottom, thus reducing lift, allowing for a much faster descent. Look up Bernoulli's principal. It;s really interesting stuff

OK so short and sweet

elevators make it go up and down, pull back to go up and push forward to go down, or pull back very hard to go down very fast. This is called the attitude (something you seem to have a bit of )

flaps INCREASE LIFT and can be used for take off and landing or towing banners slowly down the beach

Slats are like flaps on the front side

Spoilers are the reverse of flaps and decrease lift.

There are many other control metrics Ailerons are a big one, thrust, weight, attitude angle of attack

You did not get called out for being wrong about flaps

You got called out for telling me I was wrong when I knew what I saw was impossible and doubling down with , the some VJ'ers think they know more than your daddy comment.

Now being called out is all in fun and we are good sports. I mean you and others call me out post after post, and I take it in stride.

Cause we are all good sports. I had me day for once. I shall enjoy it... Peace

P.S. Flaps don't make the tale go up. They allow you to descend at a flatter angle of attack, because you can go slower with the same decent rate .

The funniest part of this is that you actually think you read somewhere that I said you were wrong. I never did. I simply asked you why you thought it was an altered video. In fact my only comment to you in this entire thread was to ask you why you thought the video was altered. I never even questioned your answers to me. I was genuinely interested to know why you thought that way, because I simply do not have the expertise in this field to know this stuff. Instead you chose to jump on an imaginary horse, yet again.

It's pretty sad to sit here and watch you imagine things on a computer screen every day. You really should know when to stop making a fool of yourself.

ROFL. don't feel bad. Notice I did not pick on you. See i am the official VJ CHEST Mag 7 whipping boy. Even my uncle spooky jumps in the tickle pile sometimes. Teddy is the head beater. He is jsut a little sore, becuse this time he go the whipping. It's still about 100-1 in his favor, cause i am u sally too nice. Most of us middle of the road guys are like that.

You doing the moonwalk. You trying to move in one direction but still going backwards.
