so google says there's a long form that goes to 1/6 households every decade. there is also an ACS survey produced by the census which goes to a sampling of households at smaller intervals. turns out i had them confused. two separate things, both ask about language.

only the short form does not.

I did look at the ACS survey on-line and it definitely does ask about language. I have never seen or received one of the ACS forms.

I was not wrong in saying I have never seen a census form that asked what language a person speaks. That was a truthful fact. I would have ben wrong if I claimed no such census form existed, but again, that's not what I said.
