Hello all. Everyday seems like a month. October is the end of the fiscal year for the US Gov. Sometimes things slow down a little. Don't forget November and December are big holiday months and a lot of workers use the rest of their vacation time. We have to be patient

Don't understand why Phillipines filers are still getting speed up on their process, a little bit unfair but oh well.... god knows when is the right time. Still nothing since we got our NOA1 :(.

By the way if things go well and we get visa approved I will be moving to Houston tx. Anyone else moving there ? Maybe we can keep in touch and make new friends :D

I also find it a little unfair that Phillipine filers are getting sped up, but such is life! I'm moving to Dallas, but that's what... 4 hours away? :)

October is the beginning of the fiscal year, not the end. Things do slow down sometimes, but that's for agencies that get appropriations from Congress, and are limited when a full budget isn't passed right away. USCIS is self funded though.

IOW things aren't going to slow down in October, at least not due to fy issues.

-us govt budget employee (not with USCIS or anything in dhs for that matter)

I have a question regarding the USCIS case status notifications. It asks to enter a case number in order to track your case - at what step do you do this? I received an NOA1 but there were no case numbers on it. Yet, I've been seeing a lot of posts with people being able to track their status as to when they receive their NOA2. Am I missing something? Or do I get assigned a case number at a later date? Sorry if this is confusing!

A receipt number should be included in the text/email notification you got for your NOA1, and also in the hardcopy received!

Hmmm, that's strange. Neither my fiance or I received a text/email and we had both checked the hardcopy for a number when we last saw each other. I'll have him check again though. Thanks!

You have to submit an additional form to get a text/e-mail notification (or sign up on USCIS's website). The number is listed on the NOA1 in the box titled "Receipt Number" and starts with a SRC if your case is at the TSC.

Here's a picture of the NOA1 hardcopy and where you will find it, it also lets you know what your receipt number should start with depending which center you're at.
