I got notification on March 5th that it was sent and called on March 11th. They still don't have it. She said it takes 35 days for them to receive it and then it will take an additional 4 weeks to assign a case number. Holy hell, why do things move so slowly? I can only imagine it's another 2 months just to get P3 and schedule an interview.

Just called the NVC and got the same message. I'd like to think its BS as well but unfortunately with the way USCIS has handled estimations and things of that nature, they seem to be unfortunately very inaccurate and always seems like its way more then the estimation. Unless there is info I haven't seen yet that proves otherwise, it looks like there is still plenty of battles left to be fought. 2 months just to get P3 Holy Hell indeed

My fiance came to visit me for Christmas from Trinidad. They stopped him at immigration briefly for questioning once he mentioned he was seeing his fiance. The one question they asked him was where are your return tickets/itinerary. So my advice would be to print the round trip itinerary and have it in hand to show that he does plan to return home within a reasonable time frame. The officers that took him back were nice though. They looked at his passport and let him through without any difficulty.

Thanks! That is very good information. I will have him show his itinerary and proof from his job that he is returning to work. I just don't want anything to slow down this process or have him sent back at point of entry. I can't believe that the approval happened. Based on phone calls to USCIS I was given the impression that they were still working on JUNE and JULY! I knew that they were wrong because of this forum but it was discouraging to hear it on the phone. There is no real trend to these approvals and it's really sad that after you pay all these fees you get poor customer service and poor overall service with the processing speed.

I just got off the phone with NVC, the lady that I spoke to sounded annoyed and robotic.. She told me they haven't received my case yet and that it could take up to 30 days for processing....and here I thought we were done with the waiting games. This is BS....

Yeah, I thought we were done with the waiting games too. Looking at the waiting times at the consulate I'm going to and when interviews are available, this is actually turning into a 1 year process, when I thought it would only take 5-7 months. I would've filed earlier if I had known this :( I'm fully expecting another 4-5 months of waiting.

7 months still counting. .... no NOA2 yet.....crying....really helpless

Your petition must be in the same batch as ours. We have the same filing date. We know EXACTLY how you feel. There is another couple with an 08/01 NOA1 date who are in the same position. Perhaps we need to start a "Hey! What about us?" thread for those of us who have been skipped.

Well as I got approved on March 6th, we got a letter "I-797 Notice of Action" today :)

On that paper there is a number above beneficiary's name.

Does anyone know what it is? Or can we do something with it??

I got my I-797 Notice of Action today. 2 thing I'm confused on is one they say they'll forward our case to the listed consulate however there isn't one listed on this paper? The other thing if anyone can clearify for me is this Approval Notice is march 5th to july 4th and it expires? Does that mean she has to get here in America before July 4th? Thanks in advance.

Congrats! the A# (Alien number...usually A +9 digits) is going to be your file number that USCIS uses to identify you. You will mostly use the A# with most communications between you and USCIS!

Congrats! Your approved case will be forwarded to your local US consulate (that you listed on your forms when you filed your petition) for interview processing! The approval and expiry dates are just a set time frame within which you should be processed/interviewed. Also note that the expiry date can be extended by the consulate if there is a delay in your processing! Good luck to you.
