So for you guys still trying to get a case number our of the NVC - it's even backed up in the mroning now. I found this on the NVC website:

In order to improve the efficiency and consistency of responses to the public, the Visa Office established one point of contact for all domestic inquiries regarding nonimmigrant and immigrant visa cases. The National Visa Center (NVC) began handling all domestic inquiries from the public on nonimmigrant and immigrant visa cases on Monday, January 12, 2015. Immigrant visa inquirers should use (603) 334-0700 to reach an NVC operator. Due to large call volume, we have also established a temporary public inquiry line, (202) 485-7600, for nonimmigrant visa inquiries, effective Wednesday, February 11, 2015.

Has anyone been able to successfully get a case number out of this secondary line? I know that whether the K1 is non-/immigrant is sketchy on the NVC side, but if it saves hours of redials, then maybe it's worth a shot.

K1 Timeline (TSC): Filed on 8.19.14 | NOA1 on 8.22.14 | NOA2 on 3.2.15 (192 days)

Post NVC: Interview on 5.11.15 (Approved) | Visa in Hand 05.21.15 | PoE 06.05.15

I just saw that the Texas offices are closed today. Ugh...was hoping for a late bday present for our son.

Why? It's sunny with no rain or snow.

Actually there was quite a bit of snow in Dallas overnight (by Texas standards).

I finally got through to the NVC, gave them my case number and the lady said, "I can't find it. Did you get the second letter? After the NOA2, you get another letter that tells you where your petition goes. Either to the NVC or somewhere else."

Somewhere else?! That's the first I've heard of it.

You got someone who had no idea what she was talking about. There is no 2nd letter and approved I-129f petitions only go to NVC.

Of course. They would post it just TWO DAYS before our date so we're still considered within normal processing time AFTER SEVEN MONTHS. I really hate USCIS.
