That was me! I guess I didn't need glitter after all! Thanks for the congrats. Hope you and everyone else get approved soon..

Does anyone know if you have the be the petitioner to call the NVC to check if they've received your package yet or can the beneficiary call?

Either one can call. You will be asked for the name and DOB of the benficiary in order to get the case #.

I'm trying to start, but am hesitant. I'm not sure how updated the visajourney info is. I believe this is the checklist: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/Packet3-K1-MTL.pdf

Getting a police certificate is such a pain! I need to get digital fingerprints first. Anyway checking the U.S. embassy page on VJ, there seems to be a whole lot of information I'm confused about. I wish I could even find any Canadian forum on the next steps, but I often find looking for any thread in these forums is hella confusing since there's no search function.

Any Canadians out there?!

In conclusion, I'm mostly lost but trying to get a head start.

There's a regional subforum for Canada with a guide pinned to the top. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/93-canada/

There are search functions here. There's a basic search bar in the on the top right of the screen and an advanced search feature above that under the black bar. You can select specific forums you want to search within and by date.

If you're using mobile I don't think you can see these. View full mode or go on an actual computer.

You're the best, thank you! Ah ha, I see the advanced search, I wonder how I never spotted that. The google custom search never works for me - it just searches for articles via google rather than a thread. THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN.

hi there,

I recieved my NOA2 on feb 6th after 6months at TSC 183 days. My case was shipped to NVC on feb 11th and it was received on feb 19th at NVC. I called a few times and it was always busy. finally got through and it was a holiday lol. I called again on Feb 19th a million times and at around 9:20pm est i got through, waited on hold for 45mins. I was very polite and the kid who answered was O.K. I asked for the beneficiaries ID# my NVC case # and our invoice id # not sure what each is for... But now i can go tonve website and check my cases progress AT NVC/ IN TRANSIT/ READY. thats all for now will update again soon good luck to all who got their NOA2 and to those still waiting i'm sending up a prayer that you are joined with your loved ones again soon . Bless... RIcciardo

the website is https://ceac.state.gov however you can only check once you get your NVC case #. there are 3 stages to NVC for K1 visa's basically.

AT NVC / IN TRANSIT / READY = at nvc means they are still checking your case and documents giving all the Id #s. in transit means they shipped your case / file to your fiance consulate in the country they are going to interview from. and Ready means the consulate has received the documents and you are ready to set your interview date. This is just me understanding of the process and please don't take it as total. You have to research also.

I believe that once you receive the NVC case# you are able to start filling out the ds160 application online. Gather your documents for the next stage I-134, letter from employer, new letter of intent to marry from you the USC- dated recently. Proof of ongoing relationship etc etc. There is a NVC forum section on VJ. Also check the embassy info page relating to your case, for specific info for that country/ consulate. That's all I have for now good luck. Ricciardo

When I checked earlier before I left for work it was still listed, but gone now. That's a good sign, I hope.
