Hi ya'll - I've popped over from the December filers thread - fingers crossed for all you guys to be approved soon. The long wait is still ahead of us.

@dizzdemy: You mentioned your partner's ESTA was revoked - can I enquire a little bit into the details? Were they extenuating circumstances for that to happen? That is a terrifying thought - I am hoping to get through the wait by visiting a couple of times privately and possibly on a business trip. Having an ESTA revoked scares the bejeezus out of me...

Absolutely. His ESTA was revoked because of our visa application. We both made a few phone calls and they say it's common once a k1 visa applicaton is received to do this. Basically you become a "flight risk". I was told that I can freely visit him because they know I will return home, however he is not allowed to visit until the visa is approved. I hope you all can slip under the radar, some do!!

Wow! That sucks so much! Why on earth would they do that if you have basically prove you are going down the legal way? You guys are the only ones where I have read that happen - though I am sure there are other cases.

I hope you guys get your approval soon!

There's actually a lot who have had their ESTA revoked. We have a baby and we think that has a bit to do with it. Of course because of this, he hasn't been able to see him since he was 3weeks old...he's now 10 months ?. Hopefully soon.

There is a thread about the ESTA revoke though.! It happens to a lot of ppl. It helped me know that we weren't alone.

I wonder if it's to do with having a baby together then. I contacted the London Consulate before we booked our flights to go visit the US in December and they said I can visit on an ESTA, but was advised to have proof of ties. ESTA was approved in seconds online and I wasn't asked anything at immigration when I landed except for a comment about all the chocolate I brought in and when I'm going back. I see you are also from the UK. Your post really surprised me.

Yes and my fiancé checked also before booking his flight in December. His ESTA Was approved within seconds too online. It wasn't until he checked in at Heathrow that it was revoked. We lost $1000 on it. Ugh it's frustrating. My fiancé contacted the embassy and they said it happens a lot and the Estas can be revoked even after landing on US soil. They've been known to revoke and send people back same day. Truthfully it's sad.

So where was it revoked? At the check in desk? That is manned by airline or airport staff. I wouldn't think they have the authority to revoke a visa waiver for another country. In fact, they should not have access to the information regarding the petition at all.

I'm really sorry to hear you both had to go through all that. My world would have come crashing down if that had happened to me at the airport!

The check in desk, they scanned his passport it and it came up that his ESTA was revoked. They called someone higher up who explained to him the situation. His world did come crashing down. He thought he would finally get to see our son, he honestly is now hesitant and afraid of this process. This is why my state senator is looking into our case. If something, God forbid, happened to our son, he cannot come here to be with us.

I popped over to the July filers page...I'm seeing a lot of approvals AND interviews completed. Hoping this is good news for all of us?

I really hope so. I'm not going to try and pretend that we had it worse than you; I did get to spend the most incredible 10 days with my fiance over the holidays, but the down side is the low after the high just feels like rock bottom. I'm almost wary of getting my hopes up with anything now, only to have them dashed again, but the fact that they are working on some of the July petitions is encouraging. I just wish they would work through a month from start to finish. It would make it so much easier to estimate where we are, especially seeing as USCIS is not at all forthcoming with any information.

That is really tough, especially with the baby.

I had my ESTA revoked too after my last visit when I was held up for 6 hours in secondary. It was my third visit that year and we were just cruising along enjoying our time together and hadn't really thought about what would happen next. I was told to apply for a B1/B2 but they wouldn't issue it for the same reasons... that I no longer had sufficient ties. I no longer owned property here and had given up my job in order to travel to spend more time together. The travelling distance is about 25 hours between us, so its not that easy. We last saw each other 2 years ago... job/visa issues that have kept us apart and now we are just hanging on for this to finally be approved so we can stay together.

If I had known it would be so long I would have found work, though in my diminishing industry it is very difficult to get senior positions anymore. I have been retraining over the last year but gave up trying to visit each other until we know we don't have to be apart again. Saying goodbye is really difficult.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

I am so sorry. I know that feeling and honestly was worried about my fiancé returning after 2 weeks with us. I just wish we had answers. My mom just died, her estate lawyer is a friend of mine. She wants to see if she can find any information out from USCIS about the delays. She said she would get back to me. If I hear anything, I'll pass it along.

Having sufficient ties is another excuse we've heard. My fiancé lost both his parents in the past 2 years, he rents not owns, etc. I hate how our lives get dictated by people behind a desk. Sadly for us, this is my fiance's only child. I cannot have more and he's missing out on so much. As for you, I've learned sadly that life is too short to be away from the one you love. This process just seems so unfair.
