Basically the second step off this link...

I haven't done anything about it yet... I'm a bit scared to tempt fate. but I guess you could start by getting together the proof of ongoing relationship.. Copies of correspondence etc. I have been collecting all my cards, letters, photos etc. from him.. Now its closer I will get more serious about it. Some countries you can get your medical done in advance which I will do but only when we have the NOA2. It will save a little bit of time, though our medical and interview waiting times are quite short.

At least the NVC process is quicker for us than it is for CSC filers... (there had to be some good news)

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

Expedited cases and a lot of users who don't know how to fill in their VJ timeline correctly.

Happy New Year's Eve,

I just called USCIS to get some status. They received our petition on August 4th and we were sent to the Texas Service Center. The first agent would only tell me what we see on the USCIS site - they are processing May 6th applications. I asked to speak with a Tier 2.

This guy checked our records, verified information with me, and then confirmed they were processing May petitions at the Nebraska Service Center. I caught that and told him we were at the Texas Service Center. He verified and out petition is definitely in Nebraska. He said sometimes they shift loads like that, which I recall with some folks being transferred to California earlier this year.

We received no notice of transfer from Texas to Nebraska. It doesn't sound like things are moving any faster. Also, I was under the impression that Nebraska wasn't even working on i-129F petitions.

Here's the other part that pissed me off. The Tier 1 agent wouldn't even confirm that normal processing time is 5 months. The second agent did confirm that 5 months is normal, but then said we still have another 90 days to wait for our petition.

Has anyone else heard similar information?

Wbeem, that's the first I've heard of that and it sounds simply bizarre. I would call back and speak to a different Tier 2 and see if you get the same info. During the previous round of transfers, nearly everyone got a transfer notice of some kind, so if cases were being transferred to Nebraska en masse someone would have surely posted about it here.

I also don't know where the 90 days estimate came from, but I wouldn't pay much attention to it. Late June and scattered July filers are getting approved, so 90 days for an early August NOA1 makes no sense.

The only part of what they told you that makes any sense is that May 6 is the official processing cutoff so far, and thus it is the new "normal." Five months was the old benchmark thst no longer exists as far as USCIS is concerned for TSC. (Although on the old website it did appear in a graphic that mentioned "processing goal" or someting like that, but I haven't been able to find that on the new website.)

Edit: perhaps the "90 days" was in reference to when you would be able to file an inquiry in the event your approval took that long? Even though in all likelihood it would come well before that...God, I hate playing guessing games with the info they give you over the phone.

It sounded very weird to me, but he confirmed that our petition is in the Nebraska Service Center, although we were originally in the Texas Service Center. One interesting thing I noticed after the call. He was quoting May 6th, which is showing on the USCIS processing time for TSC. However, the USCIS processing time for I-129F petitions for the Nebraska Service Center shows five months. So why tell me we're in NSC and then quote times for TSC?

I doubt it will be 90 days, but it was a deep setback to hear it. Lee is here with me for the holidays and we both just felt pretty dejected after that comment.

.. I'm inclined to agree with sma1488 .... I think there would have been others mentioning Nebraska too and 'May 6' is a standard line for TSC just to put everyone off persisting with questions. We know that they have approved a lot of June and some July now, but they haven't shifted that dateline of May 6. It would be nice if their stats were more accurate and genuine.

I think I would try to call again when you are feeling up to it and see what the next person says but to ask you to call back in 90 days is ridiculous. They have given you all the old and most distant parameters. There is no sense in it.

What I don't understand is, the latest processing report says May 6, but it indicates that is the time frame as of Oct. 31, 2014. I take that as they don't have information as of the date they released that info.

As an example... someone on VJ on the July thread with a 28 Jul NOA1 through TSC has just been approved on 31 Dec. I know there are June filers still waiting and earlier July but it gives hope.

Well, someone has to be the first to mention a transfer. How many of you have called recently to see if you're still in TSC? I'll call back tomorrow and check with a different agent to see if that one tells me I'm in Nebraska. If so, I'll ask why the TSC timeline applies instead of the 5 month mark for Nebraska.
