Just so I’m prepared well before time - are there any issues I should be aware of with regards to taking medication with me when I go?

I’m currently on 5mg of olanzapine for anxiety/OCD and I was going to get a prescription for 3 months worth from my doctor to pack with me. Will this be a problem?

It’ll be enough to tide me over until the EAD arrives and the meds are $94 for a month’s worth, which is doable with what I’ve saved.

I took a combination of hayfever medication with me the last two visits (strong prescribed tablets, prescribed spray, and prescribed eye-drops). Also took some insomnia medication -- zopiclone -- accidentally (from my uni days) and wasn't asked a single question about any of it.

Probably best to double check though beforehand, just for your own benefit and peace of mind.

I stocked up on a variety of my medication in quantities varying from a few months to a year's worth. I kept it all in the paper pharmacy bags with my name and details on and just put them in my suitcases. No questions were asked.

I buy medication for my mother as it is waaayy less... Never got asked, I keep all the paperwork and many times consolidate a few months worth into a bottle so I travel with less bottles (more for space issues too...)

A few years ago my mom sent some Clarityn over (before it became OTC here in the US) and contacted they US embassy and asked how to do that. They advised her to put the prescription in the package, which she did.

When I received it a week or two later, there was a marking on the outside saying it had been opened and inspected by CBP.
