It's a shame it has to all be about race. I wish we could all join together and stop killing kids. Making it about race just polarizes. If somehow the logical people in Missouri of all races, could just wait until the facts come out, then join hands and ensure justice is served, I think much more people would be sympathetic . When people loot and burn before the facts are out, it turns people off.

I talked to a buddy of mine the other day, who is the principal in my old hometown. We discussed that very issue. He said they had just got done writing their discipline action plan. 3 pages of actionable offenses. 2 of them require police action. That use to be unheard of .

of course not. i'm saying, if you catch a stupid felony charge at 16-17-18-19 years old and are charged as an adult - you could potentially have a long life ahead of you to try and run that charge down. you could end up innocently in an altercation with police 5-6 years later and your prior will be held against you by the media. not to mention the whole difficulty in getting a job. a whole different batch of life long obstacles.

it sort of like the sex offender list, what's the point in naming some guy as a sex offender for life because he peed in public once when he was drunk in 1999? doesn't that distract us from keeping our eyes on the habituallly reoffending goat romancer? not you of course.

In this case the police didn't know about the kids record when he got shot, although I have no doubt that in some cases those having a record are prejudged at times.

i'm not saying the kid got shot because the cops knew his priors, i'm saying - for whatever reason - it seems to allow folks to accept that he's dead. like, if he had priors, he had to of been doing something wrong to end up shot.
