Im new to this and just thought about if Both me and My bf need to show that we earn a certain amount of money? Or is this only for the one filing the petition and affidavit of support?

How about when I go to the embassy for the interview, do I need anything?

They will need affidavit of support from the petitioner (US Citizen), so your finances won't be looked at.

Take a look at what I (petitioner) vs. fiancee (beneficiary) had to prepare for the interview (tomorrow).

Only the U.S. Citizen (the sponsor, petitioner etc) needs to show they meet the financial requirement. The Beneficiary could be Unemployed and never worked a day in their life but they don't care as long as the Sponsor meets the income requirements.

Btw just a heads up K-1 and AOS have DIFFERENT INCOME REQUIREMENTS.

Please check the 2014 Poverty Guidelines. For K-1 the sponsor only needs to make 100% of the requirement and as AOS you must make 125%. Most embassies knowing that you will eventually adjust status want to see 125% a lot of the time.

Letter from Employer. (Optional; but it helps; paystubs and tax return should be good enough but the more evidence you gather the better)
